Thursday covered Buzzcocks with Walter Schreifels ++ night 1 'Full Collapse' pics

Thursday began their 20th anniversary celebration earlier this year in California, and now they’re in the middle of a four-night run of Brooklyn holiday shows at Music Hall of Williamsburg, playing Full Collapse and War All the Time in full. We caught night one on Thursday (12/27); after an opening set from Weekend, Thursday played Full Collapse from beginning to end, followed by a couple of songs from No Devolución and “Jet Black New Year” from their Five Stories Falling EP. They’ll do the same thing on night three, Saturday (12/29), while nights two and four get War All the Time. Check out pictures from night one in the gallery above, and setlists from nights one and two below.

Thursday’s California full album shows featured a couple of special guests, and night two in Brooklyn included a surprise appearance as well. Walter Schreifels (Quicksand, Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today) came out for the encore’s final song, paying tribute to the late Pete Shelley of Buzzocks with a cover of “Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve).” It’s a song that Pete also sang with Thursday at Warped Tour in 2006. Watch Thursday’s version with Walter below.

After Thursday’s Brooklyn run ends, they hit the hit the road again early in 2019, for more Full Collapse and War All the Time shows with Vein and American Pleasure Club. Those dates wrap up back in Brooklyn on March 17, 2019, for a sold out show at Saint Vitus.

Walter Schreifels has two upcoming Youth of Today shows in Brooklyn in March, his first with the band’s We’re Not In This Alone lineup of Walter, Ray Cappo, Porcell, and Sammy Siegler in over twenty years. Both are sold out.
