Tim Barry & Smoking Popes added to Bouncing Souls show, touring separately
As mentioned, NJ punk heroes The Bouncing Souls‘ annual home state summer show “Stoked for the Summer” happens August 4 at Stone Pony Summer Stage with the awesome lineup of Against Me! and Titus Andronicus. Since we last spoke, that lineup got even better. They added former Avail singer Tim Barry and reunited alt-rock greats Smoking Popes. Tickets are still available. Tim Barry and Smoking Popes also have several other tour dates.
Tim Barry plays three other East Coast shows with The Bouncing Souls in the Spring, as well as two DC shows with the back-in-action Gaslight Anthem and one of the Boston dates of Frank Turner‘s tour. Around that show with Frank Turner, Tim added two headlining tristate area shows: New Haven’s Space Ballroom on June 28 and Jersey City’s Monty Hall on June 30. Both are with Roger Harvey (who put out the very solid Two Coyotes last year) and Jersey City is also with Restorations (who are planning to release their fourth album soon and opening Frank Turner’s other Boston show, which also has Jeff Rosenstock on the bill). Tickets for the CT and NJ shows go on sale Friday (4/27) at 10 AM.
Smoking Popes are doing a West Coast tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of Destination Failure this week and next, with Bad Cop/Bad Cop opening, and they also open three East Coast/Midwest dates on Descendents‘ tour in August.
