Tim Heidecker releasing LP of "somewhat earnest" pop, touring, playing free Other Music in-store

Tim Heidecker, of Tim & Eric, is releasing In Glendale, an album of what he’s calling “somewhat earnest” pop songs, which will be out May 6. The first single is “Work from Home,” which is the sort of piano-driven pop we got a lot in the ’70s (Todd Rundgren, Harry Nilsson) and is a sound he’s dabbled in before. The Nilsson vibe is backed up by the song’s video, directed by Austin M. Kearns, which has a hungover Heidecker in a bathrobe wandering around his very busy house. Look for a cameo by former Foxygen guitarist Jonathan Rado whose label, Rado Records, is putting out the LP. Watch that below.

Tim will be playing some shows this spring, including an appearance at Sasquatch, and a free in-store at NYC’s Other Music on May 17 at 7 PM. All dates are listed below.

In other news, you may have seen Tim’s pal Eric Wareheim and Aziz Ansari goofing around Rome in the “official video” for Kanye West’s Life of Pablo track, “Famous.” Kanye has since chimed in that it is not actually an official video, but he “thinks it’s great.” Aziz and Eric made it while filming Season 2 of Master of None. If you haven’t seen the video, watch it below.
