Tobin Sprout looks back in "Future Boy Today / Man Of Tomorrow" video, announces tour, playing NYC w/ Sebadoh

Former Guided by Voices member Tobin Sprout just released The Universe and Me, his first solo album in eight years. It’s a record that deals with the past: both memories for new songs, as well as reworking unearthed demos. That theme comes through loud and clear on “Future Boy Today / Man of Tomorrow,” as well as its video that takes current performance footage and makes it look like 1994. That video, which was made by Ferris Henning, Brooke Olesnavage and Turner Sprout, premieres in this post and you can watch it, and listen to the album, below.

Tobin and his band will be on tour this spring, including a string of dates with Elephant 6 vets Elf Power. The NYC show happens at The Bell House on April 22 which is a co-headlining show with Sebadoh. Tickets will be on sale soon.
