Tom Morello doing Off-Broadway run of stories and music
Similar to what Patti Smith did last year, Tom Morello will be coming to Off-Broadway theater Minetta Lane on September 18, 19, and 20 for three nights of stories about Tom's life, music career, and activism and some live music too.
As Rolling Stone reports, Tom said, "I was the only black kid in an all-white town, the only anarchist at a conservative high school, the only heavy metal guitarist at Harvard University, and the only Ivy League Star Trek nerd in the biggest political rap rock band of all time. The songs, the stories, the triumphs, the tragedies, the riffs, the rebellion — all will be revealed. Oh, and I’m going play a lot of ripping guitar, too."
The event's executive producer is T Bone Burnett, who says, "Tom Morello makes profound American music, and his story is a profound American story." Tickets are on presale now and the public on-sale starts Friday (8/16) at noon.
Tom is also going on a fall tour and hosting Tom Morello's Guitar Revolution in Newport Beach, CA in January. All dates are listed, with a video of Tom doing a Rage Against The Machine medley and then playing Audioslave's "Like A Stone" with System Of A Down's Serj Tankian at Sonic Temple 2019, below.
