Rage Against the Machine were scheduled to begin their reunion tour in El Paso, TX on March 26, and follow that show with a few others in New Mexico and Arizona before returning to the road in late April. Their dates through May 20 have now been postponed amid the coronavirus pandemic, which probably leaves guitarist Tom Morello with some extra time on his hands. He said on Twitter that he'd be "posting some playlists I’ve been fiddling with while on lock down." The first featured his favorite Steve Earle songs, and below you'll find the second, which is titled "Heavy Metal Favorites."
It’s mostly older stuff and includes metal and hard rock classics like Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dio, AC/DC, KISS, Alice Cooper, UFO, Van Halen, Metallica, Megadeth, Aerosmith, Rush, Guns N’ Roses, Mountain, Thin Lizzy, Sweet, Scorpions, and more, some hair metal (Ratt, Twisted Sister, W.A.S.P., Quiet Riot), some ’90s stuff (Soundgarden, Tool, Pantera), and more. The most recent thing that makes it is System of a Down (and one song by his own band, Audioslave), and the playlist ends with… Ted Nugent?!
