The Box

New venues are always exciting, so it was kind of cool to find out that the location of tonight’s NYC Zune launch party (featuring a free show by stoner rock superstars Queens of the Stone Age) is in fact at the now-open 5000 square feet Lower East Side dinner-theatre-club-venue place called the Box (pictured above).

Remember just two weeks ago the NY Times wrote….

Another new Lower East Side club on the horizon is the Box, a 5,000-square-foot room on Christie Street whose owner, Simon Hammerstein — a grandson of Oscar — said he intended to open in the next two months with theater and music performances

band: Queens of the Stone Age
venue: The Box (189 Chrystie Street, NYC)

I have no idea how many tickets they gave out, and comments are temporarily disabled on this site so we can’t discuss it (that will be fixed soon – promise). I guess if you have a ticket, get there early for guaranteed admission. Contest winners should have them in their mailboxes today.
