Tool win Grammy for Best Metal Performance, thank Rush's Neil Peart in speech

The 2020 Grammys Premiere Ceremony is underway now, and Tool have taken home the award for Best Metal Performance for their song “7empest.” During his acceptance speech, drummer Danny Carey said “I want to thank the Gods… all of ’em. It’s probably not a good time to piss any of ’em off,” and he also thanked John Bonham, Tony Williams, and the recently deceased Neil Peart of Rush, who Danny also paid tribute to on stage the night Neil died.

Tool beat out Candlemass, Death Angel, Killswitch Engage, and I Prevail for the award. They were also up for Best Rock Song for “Fear Inoculum,” but lost to Gary Clark Jr.
