TOPS launch new label with 7" (listen), announce 2020 tour

Montreal band TOPS are back with a new two-song 7″ single, their first release for their own Musique TOPS label. “Seven Minutes” is a jangly, groovy song in the “Way to Be Loved” mode, while “Echo of Dawn” is a delicate ballad. “I like the way a song can be upbeat and groovy and still deal with dark subject matter,” singer Jane Penny says. “The chords become a source of empowerment against those bad thoughts. It’s important to move past these feelings and keep doing your thing, but the negativity we hold for ourselves can make you feel like a fraud, the song is almost like an imposter syndrome anthem.” Listen to both below and the band say stay tuned for word on their new album.

TOPS have also just announced a 2020 Tour that kicks off April 3 in Las Vegas, then heads to the East Coast and back again, wrapping up May 4 in San Diego. The NYC stop happens at Bowery Ballroom on April 18. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, October 25 at noon. All dates are listed below.
