TOPS have shared "Dayglow Bimbo" from their new album, Sugar at the Gate. While mostly known for crystalline, '80s-inspired pop, like their terrific 2014 single "Way to Be Loved," here TOPS deliver grungy shoegaze, still with melodic backbone. Says singer Jane Penny, "When David came up with the guitar part for 'Dayglow Bimbo' the song came together almost immediately. It brought me back to being a young girl in Edmonton, how independent I felt at that time but also the struggle that I went through when I was confronted by my own sexuality and myself as a sexual object. There are some dark aspects to the song but I hope that it's ultimately liberating." Listen to the song below.

Sugar at the Gate, their most confident record yet, is out June 2 via Arbutus. That same date is the start of TOPS European tour which hits the UK, France, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Poland. They'll play NYC's Full Moon Fest in July. All dates are listed below.
