Toronto band The Seams (members of U.S. Girls, Fake Palms) released debut LP & "Remembrance Day" video

Toronto’s The Seams features members of Fake Palms, Elsa, and U.S. Girls, and make the kind of ringing guitar pop you would hear a lot on college radio in the ’80s. The cover art to their debut album, Meet the Seams, features an illustration of the band wearing R.E.M. and Stone Roses t-shirts, another good indication of what to expect. (More nerdy comparisons: Shack, The dB’s or, to bring it back to Canada, Grapes of Wrath.) The record came out earlier this fall via Hand Drawn Dracula and you can stream the whole thing below.

You can also watch the video for “Remembrance Day” which was directed by Colin Medley and has the band going pumpkin picking and making pie. How autumnal! The video premieres in this post — check it out below.

Currently The Seams’ only scheduled show is is at Toronto’s Silver Dollar on January 6 with Partner but look for more dates in the new year.
