Torres, Lenny Kaye, Kevin Devine & more participating in Brooklyn Rock Lottery 8

The eighth edition of Brooklyn Rock Lottery will happen Saturday, December 2 at Knitting Factory. As in years past, 25 hand-picked musicians will gather early that Saturday morning, put their names in a hat which will then be drawn to form “bands” who then must write songs, rehearse and perform them that night. The initial lineup has just been released and you may recognize some of the participants:

Tickets are on sale now and this year half the proceeds will go to PLOT, a mentoring program for at-risk youth between the ages of nine and twenty-one living in Brooklyn, New York; while the other 50% will go to Unidos Por Puerto Rico, in an effort to provide aid and support to those affected in Puerto Rico by the passage of Hurricane Irma and Hurricane María.

There are raffles at the Knitting Factory show where they give away some great prizes, and it’s always a lot of fun. Stay tuned for the whole lineup.
