Total Slacker releasing 'Parallels' (stream it)
Brooklyn mainstays Total Slacker will follow 2014’s Slip Away with their third album, Parallels, this week (8/19) via OneRPM (pre-order). As you’d expect from Total Slacker, it’s a crunchy, melodic trip back to the ’90s, and it’s got some serious hooks. Opener “Turn On The Lights” especially sounds like it would’ve been a regular on ’90s rock radio. It’s not just poppy stuff though — “Telephone Your Soul” takes on the kind of punky shoegaze that’s been having a moment lately. A full stream of the album premieres here:
