Adrian Belew, who has played with King Crimson, David Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Talking Heads, The Bears and countless others (not to mention making his own solo albums), is on tour as we speak, and plays Woodstock’s The Colony tonight. He’ll be in NYC for four nights at Iridium from August 18-21. From there, Adrian’s tour hits Austin, Dallas, Phoenix, San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle and lots more. Detroit DIY punk greats Tyvek just released a new 7" EP, Changing Patterns of Protective Coating, which was recorded by Fred Thomas. You can stream that below. They're in NYC this weekend for two shows: Saturday (8/17) at Unit J with B Boys, Public Practice, and Emoji; and Sunday (8/18) at The Glove with Honey Radar, Brandy and P.E. (which is members of Pill and Eaters).


Control Top have a busy rest of the year. Their tour with Ted Leo kicks off tonight in Cleveland, and then hits Indianapolis, Columbus, Pittsburgh, DC and finally Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on August 24. After their dates with Ted, Control Top will be out with Titus Andronicus in September and October, plays Pitchfork's Octfest in Brooklyn, and play Philly with Cursive. All dates are here.


Kristin Hayter released her excellent new album as Lingua Ignota, Caligula, last month and will be on tour starting in early September. She's added more dates, including a second Brooklyn show.


Modern classical composer Christopher Tignor is releasing a new album, A Light Below, on October 11 and will soon be busy promoting it on tour. Dates include Brooklyn shows opening for Low at Murmrr Theatre on 9/14, and an album release show at National Sawdust on 10/18 and then he’ll be on tour with This Will Destroy You in November.


Having released new album A Bath Full of Ecstacy earlier this summer, Hot Chip are wrapping up a European tour now and will be in North America in September. Dates, which are with Holy Fuck, kick off with three nights at NYC's Brooklyn Steel (tickets are still available for night 3), and from there hits DC, Philly, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Sacramento, Las Vegas (Life is Beautiful fest), Santa Cruz, Oakland, L.A. and San Diego.
