SHARON VAN ETTEN

As you can see above, Sharon Van Etten now has a tour bus, and she and that bus are beginning their tour in DC tonight (2/6). All North American dates are with Nilufer Yanya, and this Saturday’s (2/8) NYC show at Beacon Theatre will also have a special guest chosen by Fred Armisen (who was supposed to perform at the show but had to drop off). Sharon’s excellent new album Remind Me Tomorrow is out now. All dates here.

AL GREEN

Soul legend Al Green released his first new recording in a decade this past September, and he sounded as fantastic on it as he did during his classic early ’70s era, and now he has announced his first tour in seven years. The tour surrounds his appearance at New Orleans Jazz Fest and also hits Austin, TX; Irving, TX; Sugar Land, TX; and Atlanta, GA. Those are the only cities he’s playing so far, but let’s hope he adds more. More info here.

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD

Australia’s King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, who released five album in 2017 and none in 2018, are back with a new single that tosses aside guitars in favor of vintage synthesizers. They’ve also just announced a summer tour…we expect an album announcement or three can’t be too far behind.

INTO ANOTHER / BEYOND / DEATH RAY VISION

Reunited NYC post-hardcore vets Into Another returned not just for live shows but also for new music, having released the Omens EP in 2015. They’ve now got a quick run of Northeast dates coming up in March with NYHC vets Beyond and Boston-area hardcore supergroup Death Ray Vision (members of Overcast, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, and Cannae). They’re hitting Asbury Park, Brooklyn, Hamden, and Allston. All dates here.

That’s one day before their show at Gramercy Theatre. All dates are here.
