Shock rock legend Alice Cooper has expanded his 2019 tour, adding a new U.S. run for November that hits a few cities in Florida; Roanoke, VA; Glen Falls, NY; Indianapolis, IN; and more. That's in addition to his summer U.S. run which includes a few NYC-area shows. All dates and tickets here.
Wilco have announced a fall tour -- their first in two years -- that includes two nights at ACL Live in Austin and a show at NYC's Radio CIty Music Hall.
MOZZY / ALLBLACK
Sacramento rapper Mozzy recently dropped his Internal Affairs mixtape (stream it), and he'll support it on a tour with fellow West Coaster ALLBLACK, which is an appealing pairing. Lil Poppa & Stupid Young are coming along for the ride on select dates too. The tour begins in LA, hits NYC's Gramercy Theatre on 8/2, and also stops in Chicago, Atlanta, Boston, Denver, and more before wrapping up in San Francisco. All dates here.
Alternative hip hop vets Blackalicious (aka Gift of Gab and Chief Xcel) made a comeback back in 2015 with the release of their first album in a decade, Imani Vol. 1, and they've stayed busy with live shows since then and have plans for a full tour this summer. They're hitting lots of cities across the UK, the US, and Canada, before wrapping up in the tristate area at NYC's Brooklyn Bowl on 10/15 and Princeton, NJ's Terrace F. Club on 10/17. BELLE & SEBASTIAN
Belle & Sebastian will be on tour this July, including stops at Chicago’s Pitchfork Festival(where they’ll perform if You’re Feeling Sinister in full) and the Calgary Folk Festival. They’ve just added a NYC show...which will now be the tour kickoff.
Eric D. Johnson's Fruit Bats will release Gold Past Life in a couple weeks and will be on tour for it soon, including a NYC show at Music Hall of Williamsburg on July 27. They've just announced a fall Fruit Bats tour, kicking off September 20 in Salt Lake City and running through October 5 in San Francisco, then picking up again November 6 in Boston and running through November 22 in Philly. MIKE DOUGHTY (MORE RUBY VROOM DATES)
Mike Doughty is extending his tour playing his old band Soul Coughing's album Ruby Vroom in its entirety. There's a whole fall tour in fact, staring October 4 in Colorado Springs and running through November 9 in New Orleans, with stops in between in Aspen, SLC, Boise, Vancouver, Seattle, St. Louis, Omaha, Detroit, Cleveland, Toronto, Pittsburgh, Manhattan (10/30 @ Mercury Lounge), Brooklyn (Rough Trade on November 1 & 2), Jersey City (Monty Hall on 11/3), Knoxville, Athens and more.
Noise artist (and collaborator of Full of Hell, The Body, and others) Lingua Ignota recently shared "Butcher of the World" off upcoming album Caligula (due 7/19 via Profound Lore), and she since announced a tour supporting it. In addition to playing Hudson, NY's Basilica Soundscape and Austin's levitation, she'll hit Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Montreal, Brooklyn (Public Records on 9/15), Philly, and one more city TBA. DESPISED ICON / SUFFOCATION
Deathcore band Despised Icon are doing a headlining tour this year, and making the Philly, NYC, and Worcester dates on that tour more exciting is direct support from New York death metal OGs Suffocation. All dates and tickets here.
Dinosaur Jr announced a fall headlining tour, in addition to their SummerStage at Central Park show opening for Kurt Vile and their rock camp in Upstate NY.
THE BIRD AND THE BEE
Inara George and Greg Kurstin’s group The Bird and the Bee covered Van Halen’s “Panama”earlier this year, reissued their early albums on vinyl for Record Store Day, and they’ll be on tour this summer...including an L.A. show where Dave Grohl will be their drummer.
Joanna Sternberg is releasing their new album Then I Try Some More on July 5 via Conor Oberst’s Team Love Records, and they'll be on tour with Conor, too. Joanna has a couple headline shows as well, including a record release show right before the tour at Brooklyn's soon-to-close The Glove on July 12, and then another Brooklyn record release show after the tour August 18 at Alphaville. Lucinda Williams is doing one last run of Car Wheels On A Gravel Road 20th anniversary shows, and she's been gradually announcing the final dates.
Reunited queercore vets Team Dresch released their first new song in 19 years and announced an East Coast tour. The tour includes a Philly show with Screaming Females, plus stops in DC, NJ, NYC, the Boston area, and more.
