The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

ARCTIC MONKEYS

Arctic Monkeys sold out the LA (Hollywood Bowl) and San Francisco shows on their fall North American tour and added second nights in both cities. The newly-added shows go on sale Friday, May 4 at 10 AM Pacific time. All dates HERE. All NYC shows on the tour so far are sold out, but tickets are still available for their show in Canandaigua, NY.

GRIZZLY BEAR / TV ON THE RADIO

Speaking of bands that recently added Hollywood Bowl shows, ex-Brooklyn bands Grizzly Bear and TV on the Radio play there with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith on September 23rd (tickets go on sale to the general public on April 29 at 10am). This is in addition to the recently-added June tour dates Grizzly Bear announced with Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith including Wellmont Theater in NJ, and their tour right after that with Spoon. TV on the Radio have just a handful of other dates, some of which are with LCD Soundsystem at UC Berkeley.

FLORENCE + THE MACHNINE / PERFUME GENIUS

Florence + the Machine recently announced intimate NYC, LA, and UK shows and now revealed that Perfume Genius will open in LA (that’s an awesome pairing). As mentioned, serpentwithfeet is opening in NYC (also awesome).

THURSDAY

Thursday began their full-albums tour this week with surprise openers Wax Idols and Jonah Matranga, who both joined them during their sets. Jonah is already promising to appear with the band again this weekend. Who knows what other surprises may be in store…

TEENAGE FANCLUB

Teenage Fanclub are reissuing five of their best albums — Bandwagonesque, 13, Grand Prix, Songs from Northern Britain, and Howdy — and to coincide with that they are going on a UK tour they’re calling “Songs from the Creation Years”. On it, TFC will play three nights each in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London with the first night focused on ‘91-’93, night 2 being ‘94-’97 and night 3 for ‘98-’00. Dates and tickets are here. Let’s hope they do this at some North American cities too.

JOHNNY MARR

Johnny Marr will be in the U.S. later this summer for some special release shows leading up to his new solo album, Call the Comet, including a sold-out show at Gramercy Theatre on May 31. He’s just added a second Los Angeles date to the tour, which happens June 6 at Teragram Ballroom (tickets). All tour dates here.

BRAIDS / GRAHAM VAN PELT / ALEXIA AVINA

We mentioned Braids would be playing some shows soon, but since then we’ve noticed that their NYC show at Elsewhere (5/11) has turned into a very proper Canadian indie rock showcase. Braids are promising “all new & unreleased material” (which hopefully is a good thing), and opening is Graham Van Pelt who you might know better as Miracle Fortress, and via his stint in Think About Life. Graham plays three shows total with Braids. Also on the Brooklyn show and playing two other shows with Braids is Montreal dreampop artist Alexia Avina whose album Betting on an Island came out in February and you can stream it here.

ELEANOR FRIEDBERGER

Eleanor Friedberger (of the Fiery Furnaces) is about to kick off a tour in support of her new album Rebound (out May 4th on Frenchkiss) in Kingston, NY on 4/28, followed by a show at Bowery Ballroom on 5/1 with Purr. All North American dates, which run through June 5 in Kentucky, are at her site.

KILLY

Toronto auto-tune rapper Killy has been quickly rising off the strength of his breakthrough single “Killamonjaro,” which appears on his new album Surrender Your Soul. He’s about to head out on a world tour in support of that album, including stops at Texas fest JMBLYA, Miami fest Rolling Loud, NYC’s SOB’s May 17, and more. All dates HERE. Stream the new album:

SARAH SHOOK & THE DISARMERS

Alt-country badass Sarah Shook & the Disarmers released their new album Years on Bloodshot earlier this month and they’re on tour now. They play a daytime set at Brooklyn’s WFMU Record Fair on Saturday (4/28) at 3 PM and later that night they play a proper show at Manhattan’s Berlin with Zephaniah OHora (sold out). Their international tour runs through late July. All dates and tickets HERE.

THE SCIENTISTS

Australian cult band The Scientists have reunited with their seminal 1985 lineup and are releasing two new 7″ singles this year. They’ve also announced a European tour for June and are planning their first-ever U.S. tour this fall (details TBA).

THE GOON SAX

Australian trio The Goon Sax, who released their terrific debut album, Up to Anything in 2016, are putting the finishing touches on their second album which will be their first for Wichita Records.  The band (which includes Louis Forster, the son of Go-Betweens’ Robert Forster) have also just announced their first North American shows, which will happen in June  and are currently just in Chicago, NYC and L.A.

ULRIKA SPACEK

UK psych band Ulrika Spacek, who released an excellent new EP for Record Store Day, will tour North America for the first time this fall, with dates surrounding Desert Daze fest in California. Final stop on the tour is at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on October 17. All dates are here.

NIPSEY HUSSLE

West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle has expanded his tour in support of this year’s great Victory Lap, adding a second NYC show (the first is sold out).

ANNIHILATION TIME

Oakland punks Annihilation Time’s shows are few and far between these days, and they just have just a few 2018 gigs: Pittsburgh’s Skull Fest and NYC.

DENT MAY / SHANNON LAY

Folk singer Shannon Lay (previously of the band Feels) released her very good solo album Living Water last year on Woodsist imprint Mare Records, which is run by Shannon’s recent tourmate Kevin Morby (who also called the album one of his top 10 of 2017). She’s touring with Dent May (who released Across the Multiverse last year), including a Brooklyn show on July 13 at Market Hotel. All dates HERE. She also debuted a new song called “Death Up Close” in a new live session video, which you can watch right here:
