ZAKK SABBATH

Zakk Wylde’s band Black Label Society are currently wrapping up their Sonic Brew 20th anniversary tour, and next year Zakk will presumably rejoin Ozzy Osbourne for his rescheduled tour, but first his Black Sabbath tribute band Zakk Sabbath will hit the road in August. All dates and tickets here.

BON IVER / SHARON VAN ETTEN / INDIGO GIRLS

Bon Iver are playing some shows this year, and they’ve revealed that three of the US dates will be opened by Sharon Van Etten (whose January release Remind Me Tomorrow remains one of 2019’s very best albums) and one will be opened by veteran folk rock trio Indigo Girls. One of the dates with Sharon is Red Rocks. All dates here.

ANGEL OLSEN

Angel Olsen just announced her first full-band tour in two years and includes two-night stands in Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Denver.

GODSPEED YOU! BLACK EMPEROR

Godspeed You! Black Emperor will be out this summer across the U.S. and Canada, starting in Nashville on August 8 and then rolling across the Southern part of the country, including Asheville, Atlanta, New Orleans, Austin, El Paso, Tucson, and then up through Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, Eugene, OR, Portland, Tacoma, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg. MANNEQUIN PUSSY

Philly indie-punks Mannequin Pussy signed to Epitaph for their new Will Yip-produced album Patience, which drops June 21. They’ve now announced a very lengthy headlining tour supporting the album, including a run with Empath and T-Rexstasy and another run with Destroy Boys and Ellis. The latter includes a Brooklyn show on 9/18 at Rough Trade (without Ellis). All dates here.

FONTAINES D.C. / POTTERY

Once Fontaines D.C. wrap up their tour with IDLES, they’ll head out with Partisan labelmates Pottery this fall. They’ve added more shows to the tour including a second stop in NYC (9/10 @ Bowery Ballroom). Their 9/6 show at Music Hall of Williamsburg is sold out — all dates are here.

BLACK MIDI

UK band Black Midi just announced their debut album and will tour North America this fall.

TREY ANASTASIO

Phish’s Trey Anastasio has once again expanded his 2019 tour schedule, this time adding two solo acoustic shows happening at NYC’s Carnegie Hall on October 29 and 30. Tickets go on sale Friday (5/17) at 11 AM. The new Trey documentary Between Me and My Mind will also screen in select North American theaters for one night only, July 17. Theaters TBA, but you can sign up for updates at the film’s website. Phish are also playing Bonnaroo and Trey is playing Newport Folk Festival and he will be busy at Lockn’ with a few sets. THE WATERBOYS

Led as always by Mike Scott, The Waterboys will release new album Where the Action Is on May 24 and will be on tour starting in September.

TASHA

Chicago songwriter Tasha released her debut album Alone At Last last year via Father/Daughter Records, and she’s on tour now in support of it. She’s opening for Helado Negro, including his sold out NYC date at Elsewhere Rooftop, and she’s added two new fall headlining dates, at Philly’s Boot & Saddle and Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right. SOUND OF CERES / WINTER

Two dreampop acts — cosmic duo Sound of Ceres (who just released a new Adult Swim single) and Brazilian pych artist Winter — are teaming up for an appealing double bill tour that starts tonight in Boston, then hits Brooklyn (Baby’s All Right on 5/15), DC, Raleigh, Birmingham, Atlanta, Austin, San Antonio, El Paso, Tucson and Phoenix. MAGIC SWORD

Mysterious masked and cloaked synthwave trio Magic Sword are again hitting the road in 2019, including a return to NYC on November 8 at Mercury Lounge, plus stops in Boston, DC, LA, and more. All dates and tickets here.

RIDE

Back in action shoegazers Ride announced a lengthy tour of North America and the UK in support of their upcoming album.

We haven’t had an album from Mikal Cronin in four years, but perhaps something is on the way as he just announced an extensive North American tour with Shannon Lay.

TORCHE

Melodic sludge greats Torche announced a new album and tour today.

BORIS / UNIFORM

Boris announced a new album and two reissues for Third Man Records, plus a tour with Uniform (who are on tour with Wear Your Wounds as we speak).

MELVINS / REDD KROSS / SHITKID

Melvins and Redd Kross are teaming for a tour and Steve McDonald and Dale Crover will be pulling double duty, playing in both bands.

BIG BUSINESS

In related news, former Melvins collaborators Big Business will support their very good new album The Beast You Are on a headlining tour, after wrapping up their tour opening for Sleep.

CLUTCH / KILLSWTICH ENGAGE / CRO-MAGS JM

Riff rock vets Clutch, metalcore giants Killswitch Engage, and John Joseph’s version of Cro-Mags are touring together and all playing Clutch’s Earth Rocker Festival.

THE ORIGINAL MISFITS

The Original Misfits (Danzig, Jerry Only, and Doyle included) added Denver and Seattle shows with The Distillers, The Damned, and Harley Flanagan’s Cro-Mags. Speaking of…

Reunited punks The Distillers have added summer and fall runs to their 2019 tour schedule.

BAD BUNNY

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny continues to have a huge year, and just expanded his fall tour, which now includes a Barclays Center show in December.

MARK KNOPFLER

After selling out two nights at Beacon Theatre, Dire Straits frontman Mark Knopfler added a Madison Square Garden show with Bonnie Raitt to his 2019 tour.

HISS GOLDEN MESSENGER

Hiss Golden Messenger has announced a very lengthy tour for 2019.

TYCHO

Blissed-out electronic artist Tycho has a new album on the way and will be touring, too, including a stop at SummerStage at Central Park.

DJ KOZE

Having released the terrific knock knock last year, DJ Koze is playing select dates this year, including festivals like Osheaga and Outside Lands, and this weekend’s Innervisions party in NYC.

CHRIS TRAVIS

Memphis rapper Chris Travis was once a member of SpaceGhostPurrp’s Raider Klan collective, but he left in 2013 (the same year Denzel Curry left) and went on to start the Water Boyz Entertainment label and the Seshollowaterboyz collective with Bones, Xavier Wulf, and Eddy Baker. His latest release is this year’s Teenage Freak Show mixtape, and he’s about to embark on the ‘King of the Ocean’ tour, including stops in Atlanta, NYC (Gramercy Theatre on June 16), Allston, Detroit, Chicago and Denver. XAVIER WULF

Speaking of Xavier Wulf, he’s embarking on The HollowSquad Tour, which starts this weekend. First he plays the West Coast and then he heads East, with shows in Portland, Seattle, Denver, Cleveland, Pittsburg, Buffalo, Philly, NYC (Gramercy Theatre on June 6), Atlanta, Nashville, and more. Earlier this year, he released the Battle Star X Part 1 EP, a collaboration with producer Marcelo.
