CHVRCHES / CHARLY BLISS
UK synthpop act Chvrches just announced a summer tour which kicks off June 29 in Denver and includes stops in Kansas City, Milwaukee, Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto, New Haven, and a return to NYC's Radio City Music Hall on July 11, before wrapping up with a stop at Louisville, KY's Forecastle fest. The Radio City show has very strong support from Charly Bliss, whose new album comes out in May. Before that, Chvrches have dates in Texas starting this weekend, plus shows in Chicago, St Louis and more, plus a stop at Boston Calling. Head here for all dates.
GUIDED BY VOICES (100-SONG NEW YEAR'S EVE SHOW)
Already known for playing marathon sets, Guided by Voices are promising to set a new record for themselves when they play New Year's Eve 2019 at Los Angeles' Teragram Ballroom. Says Robert Pollard, “Yes, my doctor dreamt that we played 100 songs for $100 and he even wrote it as a prescription for me on his prescription pad. Doctor’s orders…” Before that they'll be playing regular, 50-60 song shows this spring, summer and fall including stops at Jersey City's White Eagle Hall in May and Brooklyn's Industry City Courtyard in September, not to mention their first UK/EU tour in a very long time. KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD
King Gizzard's boogie-forward new album, Fishing for Fishies, is out this week and they'll be on tour later this summer, including a big NYC show at SummerStage at Central Park. Band members Stu Mackenzie and Eric Moore, however, will be in Brooklyn for the album's release on Friday (4/26) at Rough Trade for a Q&A about the album, and there'll be a signing afterwards. THE MOUNTAIN GOATS
The new Mountain Goats album, In League with Dragons this week and their tour starts Friday and hits the NYC area for two sold-out shows next week. They'll be back this summer, including a just-announced free NYC SummerStage show at East River Park on August 10. All tour dates are here.
Brooklyn dancepop duo Holy Ghost! drop their new album in June and their dates include a release show at NYC's Bowery Ballroom the day its out (6/21). That show sold out so they've added a second Bowery show on 6/22 (tickets). They've got a couple other live dates, including a Los Angeles show with Giorgio Moroder and Dita Von Teese.
DC band Gauche, which includes members of Priests and Downtown Boys, have announced their debut album, A People's History of Gauche, which is out July 12 via Merge. The band are opening for Bikini Kill in Brooklyn in June, and will then launch a North American tour in July, beginning with Merge's MRG30 fest and wrapping up near home in Baltimore on August 26, and hitting most major U.S. and Canadian cities along the way. That includes a stop at Brooklyn's Alphaville on August 24. All dates are listed here.
BLACK MOTH SUPER RAINBOW
Pittsburgh's warped synth/psych band Black Moth Super Rainbow have announced a few fall East Coast tour dates, hitting DC, Slippery Rock, PA's Resonance Festival, NYC (Brooklyn Bowl on 9/22) and Boston. Details here.
Masked, mysterious country crooner Orville Peck released his debut album, Pony, earlier this year and resumes his 2019 tour tonight in Cambridge, MA and hits Brooklyn on Friday for a sold-out show at Elsewhere Zone One. He's also just announced more shows, including another Brooklyn date, happening at Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 20. Head here for all dates and listen to Pony below:
Wu-Tang Clan members RZA, Inspectah Deck, GZA and Cappadonna are teaming up with Sacha Jenkins, who directed their upcoming Showtime docuseries, for a Times Talk about that docuseries on May 1 at NYC's Aaron Davis Hall at City College (tickets). That's one day before GZA brings his Liquid Swords tour to NYC, and about a month before Wu-Tang begin the next North American trek of their 36 Chambers tour.
RICH THE KID
Atlanta rapper Rich The Kid recently put out a video for "Save That" off his latest album The World Is Yours 2, and he has now announced more tour dates supporting the album. In addition to playing Summer Jam, he's got an upcoming NYC show happening July at Brooklyn Steel. Also, he's looking to hire a personal blunt roller for the tour and will pay $5,000. All dates here.

JOYCE MANOR / SAVES THE DAY / AWAKEBUTSTILLINBED
Joyce Manor and Saves the Day recently announced a co-headlining NYC show happening at the soon-to-reopen Webster Hall. They've now revealed that the NYC show is part of a longer co-headlining tour they'll be on together, and that the great newer emo band awakebutstillinbed will be opening all dates, including the NYC show. ANDERSON .PAAK / THUNDERCAT / EARL SWEATSHIRT
Anderson .Paak released his funky, soulful new album Ventura earlier this month, and he has now expanded his tour in support of it, adding a big LA show happening at The Forum on 6/29, as well as a new San Diego show. All dates on the tour are with Thundercat, and the two newly-added shows have additional support from Earl Sweatshirt (who's also on the previously announced Madison Square Garden show). Other openers on the tour are Noname, Mac DeMarco, and Jessie Reyez. All dates and tickets here.
JAYDAYOUNGAN / YUNGEEN ACE
Cinematic Music Group labelmates and collaborators JayDaYoungan and Yungeen Ace will be touring together in May and June, including a NYC show on June 11 at Gramercy Theatre, as well as stops in Boston, DC, Atlanta, New Orleans, and more. JAWBREAKER / BULLY
Jawbreaker's reunion tour continues in Europe/the UK this week, and they've now added more US shows for June, including three Texas shows (Houston, Austin, and Dallas), and Tulsa, Oklahoma. All four newly-added shows are with Bully, which is a very cool double bill. Jawbreaker also play the West Coast Warped Tour and The Fest. Dates here.
TOUCHE AMORE / DEAFHEAVEN / PORTRAYAL OF GUILT
Touche Amore and Deafheaven's paths have crossed a handful of times over the years -- they've played shows together, used to be Deathwish labelmates (are now sort of labelmates again; Touche are on Epitaph and Deafheaven are on ANTI-), and Touche Amore's Nick Steinhardt has designed the artwork for all of Deafheaven's albums -- but they've never actually toured together. That will finally change, as they've now announced a co-headlining Europe/UK tour, with support from great newer band Portrayal of Guilt who fits in perfectly with both Touche Amore and Deafheaven. CHRCH and USNEA
West coast doom-tinged metal bands CHRCH (Neurot Recordings) and USNEA (Relapse Records) are teaming up for a mostly-west coast tour that ventures through Los Angeles and into Austin, New Orleans, St. Louis, Denver and other cities (though first CHRCH have some dates in Washington and Oregon to play). THE FLAMING LIPS / THE CLAYPOOL LENNON DELIRIUM
It’s a double dose of technicolor psychedelic pop as The Flaming Lips and The Claypool Lennon Delirium will be on tour together this summer with Particle Kid on the bill as well.
TY SEGALL AND THE FREEDOM BAND
Ty Segall and The Freedom Band has announced multi-night residencies in Los Angeles, NYC, Paris, London, and Haarlem, NL where they will play select albums in full, including Melted, Goodbye Bread, Emotional Mugger and Manipulator. There are 10 Los Angeles shows and five NYC shows.
CORROSION OF CONFORMITY / CROWBAR
Veteran metal bands Corrosion of Conformity and Crowbar are once again hitting the road together for a 2019 tour, hitting a handful of different markets than they hit last time.
