The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more

THE DECEMBERISTS with MARISSA NADLER and more

The Decemberists had to recently postpone/cancel tour dates due to Colin Meloy suffering from vocal strain, and as mentioned, they will now play Brooklyn’s Prospect Park on August 14. They now added other new dates happening around that time (and a little later on too), including dates with Marissa Nadler and others with Kacy & Clayton. (Still no opener announced for the new Brooklyn date.) Updated dates here.

CONOR OBERST / PHOEBE BRIDGERS

Conor Oberst is touring this October with his backing band The Mystic Valley Band, including a few shows opened by Phoebe Bridgers. Conor duets with Phoebe on Would You Rather” off her great 2017 debut album Stranger in the Alps, and they’ve sung live together before, so maybe that’ll happen at these shows. Conor also opens two shows for the legendary John Prine in November. All of his dates are here. Phoebe has other dates, including shows with American Football, and The National’s two-day NYC fest.

KURT VILE / JESSICA PRATT

Kurt Vile has been touring like crazy all year, and his schedule just got even crazier: he added a run with Jessica Pratt.

BLITZEN TRAPPER

Portland folk-rock vets Blitzen Trapper are celebrating the 10th anniversary of their fourth album, Furr, with a deluxe edition of the LP and a tour where they’ll play it in full

STRFKR

Portland band STRFKR are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year with a tour where they’ll play their debut album (back when they were called Starfucker) in full, plus second set of songs from their rest of their catalog. Dates includes two nights at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on October 5 & 6. Tickets for the tour go on sale Friday, June 22. All dates are here.

HALEY FOHR (CIRCUIT DES YEUX)

Experimental musician Haley Fohr (aka Circuit des Yeux aka Jackie Lynn) is on tour, doing Circuit des Yeux shows, a solo vocal set at Cincinnati’s No Response Festival this Thursday (6/21), and shows where she’ll perform a live score to the 1923 silent film Salomé. One of her Salomé shows is in NYC on August 18. More info and tickets for that show here, and all dates here.

THE HONORARY TITLE / JOHN NOLAN

Brooklyn emo band The Honorary Title are reunited and performing their 2004 debut LP Anything Else But the Truth in their hometown, Chicago, and San Francisco this August. The shows also have an appealing opener: Taking Back Sunday backup singer and Straylight Run frontman John Nolan. Tickets for all three shows here.

EROL ALKAN

DJ, producer, Beyond the Wizards Sleeve member Erol Alkan will be going on a short U.S. tour, titled To the Rhythm, this summer. He’ll be doing marathon sets at each stop. “Being able to DJ from open to close means I can play right across my musical universe and make the most of this trip,” says Errol. “My 6 hour set for Prototype in LA last year was a personal favourite of 2017. There’s no way I’m coming all that way to only just play 90 minutes for you. See you there.” Stops include San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Analog Brooklyn on August 3. All dates/tickets are here.

DUCKWRTH

Funk/rap artist DUCKWRTH, who we recently highlighted here, is playing Afropunk Brooklyn in August and also going on a fall tour that includes a return to Brooklyn on 10/19 at Rough Trade. All dates and tickets here.

WARREN G

G-Funk OG Warren G is on his “I Need A Light Tour” and he just added new dates to it.

THE GROWLERS

The Growlers will be taking their Beach Goth fest on the road later this year and while they haven’t announced openers yet, dates include two nights at NYC’s Brooklyn Steel.

ICEAGE / BLACK LIPS / SURFBORT

Danish band Iceage are in North America as we speak, on tour with Mary Lattimore, but they’ve already announced they’ll be back this fall for a tour with co-headliners Black Lips, as well as Surfbort. The tour wraps up with two more NYC shows, making eight total for the band this year.

SAINTSENECA

Saintseneca announced a new album, released the first single, and announced a headlining tour.

CLUTCH

Riff rock vets Clutch announced a headlining tour surrounding some previously announced festival appearances.

WAX CHATTELS

New Zealand synthpunk/industrial trio Wax Chattels, whose debut LP just came out via Flying Nun/Captured Tracks, will be touring North America this summer. “We want to play shows that make people feel uncomfortable,” says keyboardist/vocalist Peter Ruddell. “The goal is to leave the audience feeling slightly altered, like they have experienced, not just heard or seen something.”

MARISA ANDERSON with TARA JANE O’NEIL and more

Portland guitarist Marisa Anderson is touring behind her Thrill Jockey debut, including a run opening for the great Tara Jane O’Neil.
