EFRIM MANUEL MENUCK & KEVIN DORIA

Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mt. Zion’s Efrim Manuel Menuck and Growing’s Kevin Doria recently released their first collaborative album, are SING SINCK, SING, on Constellation, and they’re gearing up for a Europe tour together including a stop at Primavera Sound. First, they play Brooklyn’s Murmrr Ballroom on Thursday (5/16) with Ornament. All dates here.

DUFF MCKAGAN / SHOOTER JENNINGS

Kurt Bloch isn’t the only Fastbacks alumni with a new album and 2019 tour dates. Duff McKagan, who is better known as being bassist in Guns N’ Roses, is gearing up to release a new solo LP, Tenderness, on May 31 via UME. He’s also announced a US tour with country vet Shooter Jennings starting later this month in Philly, before hitting other cities like NYC (Irving Plaza on 6/3), Chicago, LA, Boston, Austin, Washington D.C., Seattle, Portland, and more. Following his solo tour, Duff will regroup with Guns N’ Roses this fall for a few festival shows, including ACL Festival, Tennessee’s Exit 111, and Louisville’s Louder Than Life. COVET / VASUDEVA / HOLY FAWN

Instrumental rock trio Covet have announced a headlining tour in continued support of their 2018 Triple Crown debut efforsce. The tour is with their shoegazy black metal labelmates Holy Fawn and likeminded instrumental band Vasudeva. All dates and tickets, including Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Rooftop on 7/16, here.

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME

Long-running progressive metal shapeshifters Between the Buried and Me are hitting the road this year in continued support of 2018’s two-part Automa. This run is with The Contortionist and Nick Johnston, and it includes stops in Syracuse, Pittsburgh, Clifton Park, New Haven, Providence, Maine, Richmond, and more. MERRIMACK / TRUE BLACK DAWN / etc

French black metallers Merrimack are coming over to North America for Maryland Deathfest soon, and right before that festival, they’ll stop in NYC for an MDF-presented show at Brooklyn Bazaar on May 24. The whole lineup of that show features bands playing MDF, including True Black Dawn, Abyssal, Deletere, and Tchornobog. After MDF, Merrimack will head to Mexico for a few shows. All dates here. HARDCORE HELL FEST

Newly-announced NYC fest Hardcore Hell goes down August 9-11, with a lineup featuring Kriegshog, Skizophrenia, The Marked Men, Career Suicide, Hank Wood and the Hammerheads, Muro, Vaaska, and many others.

FURY / DIZTORT / WILD SIDE

Canada’s Wild Side was recently added to Fury’s upcoming tour with Diztort, including dates in Brooklyn, Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Philly.

LUST FOR YOUTH

Scandinavian synthpop duo Lust for Youth, whose new album is out June 7 via Sacred Bones, have added more dates to their fall tour, including stops in Philadelphia, Connecticut, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Oakland. They tour kicks off with a Brooklyn show at Elsewhere Hall on October 17. All dates are here.

GIRL IN RED

Oslow, Norway-based bedroom pop artist Girl in Red returns to North America in September for a headlining tour, starting September 5 at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg (tickets). She’ll head to Philadelphia, Washington DC, Boston, Montreal, Denver, San Francisco, Seattle and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles at the end of the month. See all of her upcoming dates here.

WILCO’S SKY BLUE SKY FEST

Wilco is throwing a destination festival in Mexico, Sky Blue Sky, in January, with a lineup of Jeff Tweedy, The Autumn Defense, Courtney Barnett (solo), Sharon Van Etten, Kamasi Washington, Dr. Dog, Yo La Tengo, Calexico, Durand Jones & The Indications, The Comet Is Coming, and Buenos Aires band Archi.

BARONESS

Baroness announced a lengthy Europe/UK tour opening for Volbeat, going down from September through November, after their previously announced headlining tours of North and South America.

OLDEN YOLK

Olden Yolk, the duo of Shane Butler of Quilt and Caity Shaffer, are back with their second album, Living Theatre, this week which mixes pastoral folk and baroque pop with a decidedly krautrock-y rhythm section. They’ll kick off their spring tour tomorrow at Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right with Peel Dream Magazine and Sunshine also on the bill, and then the tour heads to Boston, DC, Philly, Atlanta, New Orleans, Nashville, Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and more.

FLOWER / SEBADOH

Versus members Richard and Ed Baluyut are bringing their old group Flower on tour with Sebadoh, as they tease their first LP in 29 years.

BACKTRACK

New York hardcore Backtrack are calling it quits, but not before going on one final international tour.
