THE FLAMING LIPS

After first announcing an international tour earlier this year, The Flaming Lips have added more dates, including stops in Kansas City, Cleveland, Montreal, Providence, Pittsburgh, Louisville, and more. The dates are in continued support of 2017’s especially weird and psychedelic (even for their standards) Oczy Mlody. All dates are listed HERE. Tickets for all newly-added dates go on sale Friday (4/6) at 10 AM local time.

MERCURY REV

Meanwhile, former Flaming Lips guitarist Jonathan Donahue is taking his band Mercury Rev on tour this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their classic fourth album, Deserter’s Songs. Dates include Desert Daze Festival in California and a BrooklynVegan-presented show at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

BUILT TO SPILL

Indie rock greats Built to Spill start their tour with The Afghan Whigs next week, but along the way they’ll be playing some headline dates, too, including a very intimate show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn.

CAKE / BEN FOLDS

Alt-rock vets Cake and Ben Folds will be on tour together this summer, with special guests Tall Heights. Dates include shows at NJ’s Stone Pony Summerstage on August 15 and Queens’ Forest Hills Stadium on August 17. Tickets for all dates go on presale on Tuesday, April 3 at 10 AM local time (use code BENFOLDS2018).

JEFF BECK

Jeff Beck, Paul Rodgers (Free, Bad Company), and Ann Wilson (Heart) announced earlier this year that they’d be taking their triple threat of classic rock on tour this summer, including NYC-area shows on 8/12 at PNC Bank Arts Center and 8/14 at Jones Beach, and Jeff Beck has now added a smaller show in the area happening at the Capitol Theatre on 8/15. SALES

Indie pop duo SALES have announced a tour, including some dates with Topshelf-signed dream pop band No Vacation. The tour includes NYC shows on 9/21 at Bowery Ballroom and 9/22 at Elsewhere Hall (no openers announced for those). They recently released a new single, “Off and On.” All dates are listed HERE.

RYAN ADAMS

Ryan Adams, who released Prisoner last year, will lead a tribute to Rolling Stones’ classic Exile on Main St in New Orleans on May 5 at Saenger Theatre. They’re calling “Exile on Bourbon St” and legendary producer Don Was will be the musical director, with more special guests to be announced. Tickets are on sale. Ryan’s only other announced show this year is at Colorado’s Red Rocks on June 14.

COMBO CHIMBITA

Rooted in Colombia but based in New York, Combo Chimbita take elements of cumbia, 70s funaná, Haitian kompa, salsa, reggae, psych, and other styles and blend it for their own unique style. (Check out their music here.) The band are currently on tour with Crumb, making their way back from SXSW, the final date being at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere Zone One on Saturday (4/7).

LILLIE MAE

Singer, songwriter, violinist, and Jack White collaborator Lillie Mae has announced a tour in support of 2017’s Forever and Then Some, which came out on Jack White’s Third Man Records. BRIAN WILSON PLAYING ‘THE BEACH BOYS’ CHRISTMAS ALBUM’

Brian Wilson is playing The Beach Boys’ classic 1964 Christmas album in full on tour this holiday season, joined by fellow Beach Boys Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin.

VAN MORRISON / WILLIE NELSON

Two legends, Van Morrison and Willie Nelson, have separate tours this year, and they’re crossing paths for a special night at Queens’ Forest Hills Stadium.

NAP EYES / SHE-DEVILS

Canadian bands Nap Eyes and She-Devils kick off their North American tour on Tuesday (4/3) in Toronto, and they’ll hit NYC on April 19 at Elsewhere Zone One. Nap Eyes new album, I’m Bad Now, came out last month via Paradise of Bachelors, and She-Devils released their debut album in 2017 on Secretly Canadian.

ETERNAL SUMMERS

Eternal Summers just played Brooklyn this past weekend, and have just announced more tour dates in support of their new album, Every Day It Feels Like I’m Dying, which finds them going in a jazzier, more indie pop direction. New dates include another NYC show, happening June 12 at Rough Trade. All tour dates and tickets are available here.

DANIEL AVERY

With his new album for Mute out this week, UK electronic artist Daniel Avery is currently on tour in North America and hits the East Coast later this week (Brooklyn on Friday).

GOLD DIME

Gold Dime, the current project from ex-Talk Normal member Andrya Ambro, released their debut album last year (listen), and will be on tour in April, including dates with U.S. Girls (including their three-shows-in-one-night marathon at Baby’s All Right on 4/13), as well as shows with Yamantaka // Sonic Titan and Bush Tetras. After that tour, Gold Dime will play NYC’s H0L0 on May 10 with Leila Bordreuil, and Horse Lords. Check out tour dates and buy tickets here.

YOUNG GALAXY

Montreal synthpop band Young Galaxy will release their new album, Down Time, this week (stream it now) and will soon be on tour. Dates include a NYC show at Knitting Factory on April 13 with Sound of Ceres. Dates and tickets are here.

CUT CHEMIST

Veteran hip hop DJ, former Jurassic 5 and Ozomatli member, and frequent DJ Shadow collaborator, Cut Chemist is touring this spring in support of his recently-released solo album Die Cut. The album features Biz Markie, Tune-Yards, Deantoni Parks, Dexter Story, and others. The tour includes a NYC show on 4/26 at Music Hall of Williamsburg with El Dusty, DJ Shortkut, and Edan. GLENN HUGHES PLAYING DEEP PURPLE

Burn, Stormbringer and Come Taste the Band-era Deep Purple bassist/co-frontman Glenn Hughes is bringing his former band’s classics on a massive international tour this year. He’s still got those killer pipes.

PEGGY GOU

South Korean-born, Berlin-based electronic musician and vocalist Peggy Gou recently released an EP on Ninja Tune and now she’s playing North American shows around her Coachella performances.

THE BODY

Absurdly prolific, boundary-pushing heavy duo The Body are releasing a new album and touring this year, including a collaborative set with Thou at Roadburn, European dates (with Lightning Bolt, Uniform, Weedeater, and Iceage), a Saint Vitus show in Brooklyn, and more.

CHROME SPARKS / MACHINEDRUM

Machinedrum recently remixed Chrome Sparks to coincide with their tour together, which is underway now.

SMERZ

XL-signed Norwegian electronic pop duo Smerz have upcoming tour dates, including a headlining NYC show before their West Coast tour opening for Mount Kimbie.
