HOT WATER MUSIC – ‘CAUTION’ SHOWS

Gainesville punk vets Hot Water Music are turning 25 in 2019, and to celebrate, they’re doing full-album shows for the first time ever. They’ll be playing 2002’s classic Caution (home to fan faves like “Remedy” and “Trusty Chords”) in Berlin and Cologne in November 2019. Here’s to hoping they decide to do the U.S. too. More info here.

IRON CHIC

Long Island punks Iron Chic are playing the LI stop of Culture Abuse and Gouge Away’s tour at Amityville Music Hall on Friday (10/12), also with LI’s Somerset Thrower on the bill, and then they’ll be touring in late October through mid-November, including Kingston, NY and Brooklyn, NY shows with Timeshares. All dates here.

LOWER DENS (OPENING FOR DIRTY PROJECTORS, MORE)

Lower Dens haven’t made a record since 2015’s Escape from Evil, but there is movement in their camp. They’ll be playing shows soon, including opening for Dirty Projectors’ three shows at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere in November. They’ll also play a hometown Baltimore show before that, as part of U+NFest on November 10 which also features Shannon & the Clams, Peel Dream Magazine, Dirty Fences, and more.

VALLEY LODGE

With a new album out next week, Dave Hill’s guitar pop band Valley Lodge have shows on the horizon. They’ll play a record release show at NYC’s Mercury Lounge on November 6, followed by Ohio shows in Columbus and Cleveland, and then a Brooklyn show on November 30 at Hank’s Saloon. Head here for dates and tickets.

CADENCE WEAPON / FAT TONY / HUA LI

Indie rappers Cadence Weapon, Fat Tony, and Hua Li are on a North American tour together as we speak. They’re about to do some Canadian shows, and eventually they’ll hit Brooklyn’s Knitting Factory on 10/28. All dates here.

MARKY RAMONE’S BLITZKRIEG

Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg (which currently includes Bad Religion/Circle Jerks guitarist Greg Hetson) are touring, with European and Mexican dates, followed by a NYC holiday show that will include “40 Ramones classics” and a screening of Rock N Roll High School.

LEFTOVER CRACK / NEGATIVE APPROACH / CRAZY & THE BRAINS

The killer, multigenerational punk bill of Leftover Crack, Negative Approach, and Crazy & the Brains hits the road later this fall.

NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK / SALT-N-PEPA / TIFFANY / DEBBIE GIBSON / NAUGHTY BY NATURE

Expect an onslaught of hits at this ’80s nostalgia tour.

JEFF TWEEDY

The Wilco frontman has an upcoming book tour in support of his new memoir and has added a second NYC event to the schedule.

TENACIOUS D

Jack Black and Kyle Gass will soon be on tour in support of new album Post Apocalypto and before their tour kickoff shows in Brooklyn will host screenings of their Post Apocalypto web series at the Brooklyn Alamo Drafthouse, with Q&As, too. For folks in other parts of the U.S., Alamo will simulcast the Q&As to their other theaters around the country.

IGGY AZALEA (CANCELLED)

First CupcakKe dropped off, and now Iggy Azalea’s entire tour is cancelled “due to unforeseen circumstances.” “Believe me – i was really excited for this tour… and im genuinely disappointed it cant happen this year – The choice was out of my hands and not my call to make. I hope i will get to see you all in person one day,” Iggy tweeted.
