Jason Isbell announced a new album and tour, including shows with David Crosby (including Vienna, VA and a two-night stand in NYC), Strand of Oaks (including Philly, Atlanta, Toronto, and more), Lucinda Williams (at Red Rocks), and more.
RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE / RUN THE JEWELS
Many months after teasing their return and announcing some festival dates, including Coachella, Boston Calling, and Firefly, Rage Against the Machine have announced a full reunion tour, their first since 2011, with support from Run the Jewels.
THE MOUNTAIN GOATS (NEW JOHN DARNIELLE SOLO SHOWS)
The Mountain Goats are on tour this spring, and John Darnielle also has solo shows, including two sold-out nights at the new City Winery in NYC. He's just added three more solo dates, happening in Bethlehem, PA, Woodstock, PA and Holyoke, MA. All dates are here and you can watch John sing the announcement:
Alex Lahey just released a new single as well as some West Coast tour dates in May and June.
Tuareg songwriter and guitarist Mdou Moctar will be coming to the U.S. for the Big Ears and Treefort festivals and will be touring around them, beginning March 14 in Hamilton, ON and wrapping up at LA's Teragram Ballroom on April 13. He'll play two nights at Brooklyn's The Sultan Room on March 21 & 22 and will play Chicago and Madison, WI shows with Steve Gunn, and will also be back in June for dates around Bonnaroo. BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB
Bombay Bicycle Club have announced another leg of North American tour dates, including shows in New York, Philly, Boston, DC, Toronto, Montreal, Nashville, Atlanta, and more.
Electronic dance music greats Underworld 's upcoming North American dates will feature two-hour sets including “classic cuts from their storied discography as well as more recent material from their year-in-the-making epic DRIFT: Series 1.”
UK producer/drummer Georgia will be in the US for Boise's Treefort Festival in March, and has put together a short tour while here, kicking things off at Brooklyn's The Sultan Room on March 25, and hitting Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Janet Jackson will head out on the Black Diamond tour this summer, which is named after her upcoming new album, but the tour will also feature “a special performance of Rhythm Nation 1814, which recently marked its 30th Anniversary.”
Toronto rapper/singer Haviah Mighty is gearing up to hit the road in continued support of her great, Polaris Prize-winning 2019 album 13th Floor.
MEGADETH / LAMB OF GOD / TRIVIUM / IN FLAMES
Megadeth and Lamb of God have announced a 55-date co-headlining North American tour for summer and fall, with support coming from Trivium and In Flames. It'll be Megadeth's first tour since Dave Mustaine's cancer diagnosis (he was recently declared cancer-free), and LOG's first North American tour in support of their upcoming self-titled album.
Tokyo death-doomers Coffins released their crushing fifth album, Beyond the Circular Demise, back in September via Relapse, and they’ve announced a US tour supporting it, around their appearance at Maryland Deathfest 2020.
Mashup artist Girl Talk has been active on the festival circuit for a number of years, but it’s been a while since he’s gone on a headlining tour of his own. That changes this spring.
Sample-forward pop group TV Girl are reissuing their terrific 2014 debut album French Exit on vinyl and that will be out in time for its “6 1/2 year anniversary” tour where they'll play it in full.
Art Garfunkel will be back for more "In Close-Up" tour dates, where he'll brings along a guitarist and keyboardist, and perform Simon & Garfunkel songs, solo hits, select covers and read excerpts from his memoir, Luminous. He's got Midatlantic shows in VA and MD this month, and spring dates in Florida, CT, NJ, and WI. Head here for all dates.
H2O / GORILLA BISCUITS
H2O and Gorilla Biscuits recently finished a European tour with Agnostic Front and Wisdom of Chains, and the two New York hardcore bands will join forces again in late March for some shows in Colorado and California. After that they've got a couple small NYC area shows; Gorilla Biscuits have some addtional dates too.
COHEED & CAMBRIA
Coheed & Cambria are going on their No World For Tomorrow tour starting in May, with support from mostly-instrumental prog/math rockers CHON. They've added more dates to the tour, including a second NYC show.
Swedish art pop artist ionnalee is celebrating the tenth anniversary of her musical career (which began with iamamiwhoami) on the 'KORNOLOGI TOUR,' which "invites her fans to journey through the chronology of her audiovisual works, that ionnalee describes as ‘made in joint effort with the audience.'”
LORELLE MEETS THE OBSOLETE
Guadalajara, Mexico’s Lorelle Meets The Obsolete have been making dark-hued psych that pulls from post-punk, krautrock and dreampop for the last decade. They will be heading to Austin for SXSW and will tour the U.S. and Canada around the festival, hitting both coasts and stops in between. Most of the tour is with Berlin’s gothy The Underground Youth.
