DAVE MONKS (of TOKYO POLICE CLUB)

Tokyo Police Club frontman Dave Monks is releasing his debut solo album and he’s also going on a tour that hits Chicago, NYC (Berlin on 11/14), DC, several Canadian cities, and more. All dates here.

FUTURE ISLANDS

Future Islands are working on the follow-up to 2017’s The Far Field, and they’re going to “road test these new songs” on a short Northeast tour in late summer.

LANKUM

Irish Folk collective Lankum were here back in January and are back for a few more show this week, including Truro, MA tonight, Northampton on Wednesday (7/31), Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on Thursday (8/1) and Cambridge, MA on Friday (8/2). ROB DELANEY

Comedian and Catastrophe co-star/co-writer Rob Delaney will play a few U.S. standup shows before heading to the UK, including Boston, Charlotte and Asheville. Head here for all dates.

POND

Australian pysch-pop band Pond, who released album Tasmania earlier this year, have just announced a few U.S. tour dates for September, including NYC, Philadelphia, DC, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

DEREK SMALLS (SPINAL TAP)

Derek Smalls, the Spinal Tap bassist who looks a little like Harry Shearer, will be going on the “Lukewarm Water Live!” tour where he’ll be joined by a “panoply of special guests.” In addition to songs from his new album Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing), you can plan on Derek playing favorites from the Spinal Tap songbook, too. So far there are only four announced dates — L.A on 11/6, Seattle on 11/9, Vancouver on 11/11 and San Francisco on 11/14 — but Derek is promising more in 2020.

MOTT THE HOOPLE ’74

Mott The Hoople ’74, which reunited Ian Hunter with his with former bandmates Ariel Bender and Morgan Fisher, have been out on the road celebrating the 45th anniversary of the band’s 1974 tour, and they’ve just added more U.S. shows this fall. Dates kick off at Port Chester, NY on 10/21 and include stops in DC, Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas, Austin, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, and Seattle.

KEVIN GATES

Rapper Kevin Gates is prepping new album I’m Him which he told Ebro on Beats 1 comes out August 30, though a release date has not been officially announced. and he’s also just announced a fall tour in support. It kicks off in Chicago on October 12 and wraps up November 30 in Seattle, with stops in between in New York (Terminal 5 on 10/23), Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Boston, Houston, and more.

DWIGHT YOAKAM

Country great Dwight Yoakam starts his tour this weekend and he’ll be out through the fall, with three NYC-area shows.

SCOTT REYNOLDS (of ALL)

Former ALL singer Scott Reynolds is still active as a solo artist, and he’s got two shows coming up in NY and NJ this weekend. First he plays Port Chester, NY’s Stilltheone Distillery on Friday (8/2) with We Are Not Our Bodies, Monte, and Neckscars; and then Trenton, NJ’s Millhill Basement on Saturday (8/3) with Doc Rotten, The Despised NJ, and Minor Setback.

CHANCE THE RAPPER

Chance the Rapper announced a massive arena tour supporting his massive new 22-song album, The Big Day.

FACE TO FACE / LAGWAGON

Two long-running punk bands and Fat Wreck Chords labelmates, Face to Face and Lagwagon, have announced a co-headlining tour.

JOSEPH ARTHUR

Singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur is getting ready to release his first album in three years and he’ll also be touring this fall, and most dates are co-headlining shows with Jesse Malin.

GHOST FUNK ORCHESTRA

Brooklyn collective Ghost Funk Orchestra are prepping their debut album and have local shows coming up with A Giant Dog, The Mystery Lights, Tomberlin and more.

PRATEEK KUHAD

New Delhi singer/songwriter Prateek Kuhad, who released the cold/mess EP last year and toured earlier in the spring, will be back on the road in November, playing DC, Boston, NYC (Le Poisson Rouge on 11/6), Brooklyn (Music Hall of Williamsburg on 11/7), Toronto, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. MORRISSEY / INTERPOL

Morrissey and Interpol have expanded their upcoming tour, adding a new final date at LA’s Hollywood Bowl.

CHON / BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME

Proggy math rockers CHON and long-running prog-metallers BTBAM will hit the road together for a co-headlining tour this fall.

SLOPPY JANE

The unforgettable Sloppy Jane play two back-to-back Brooklyn shows in August, first on 8/16 at The Glove with Cumgirl8, Jazzboy, and Sugarlife, then 8/17 at Baby’s All Right with a TBA lineup.
