ANXIOUS / SAVES THE DAY
Connecticut melodic hardcore band Anxious are prepping a new LP for Triple B Records this year, and immediately following their previously-announced tour opening for Knuckle Puck (with One Step Closer and Heart Attack Man), they've got a brief tour opening for Saves The Day this spring. Both bands hit Syracuse, Cleveland, Toronto, and Millvale, PA in late March, which happens to be around Saves The Day's US tour with Third Eye Blind that month. Find all Anxious dates here.
Former Fleetwood Mac singer/guitarist Lindsey Buckingham has announced his first tour since undergoing open heart surgery last February. Dates kick off April 25 in Las Vegas, and the tour also hits Boulder, Kansas City, St. Louis, Memphis, Atlanta, Knoxville, Huntsville, Wichita, Oklahoma City, Tucson, and El Cajon, CA. FURNACE FEST 2020 (LINEUP ADDITIONS)
The lineup for Furnace Fest continues to expand, and new additions include Poison the Well playing The Opposite of December for its 20th anniversary (which they're also doing at Psycho Las Vegas), Jeremy Enigk, As Friends Rust, and Showbread. They join previously announced bands Every Time I Die, The Appleseed Cast, AVAIL, Counterparts, Defeater, The Juliana Theory, Mineral, From Autumn to Ashes, Converge, Cave In, Boysetsfire, The Casket Lottery, Hot Water Music, Knocked Loose, Codeseven, Further Seems Forever, Hopesfall, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, Shai Hulud, With Honor, Zao, and more. THE JULIANA THEORY / MAE
Not only are they playing Furnace Fest, The Juliana Theory are also touring with fellow emo/indie/pop vets Mae and both are playing albums in full for their 15th anniversaries, Emotion Is Dead and The Everglow, respectively. (It's been dubbed the "Emotion Is The Everglow" tour.) All dates (including Brooklyn's Music Hall of Williamsburg on 6/13) here.
ANDREW BIRD / CALEXICO AND IRON & WINE
2019 was a great year for both Andrew Bird (who released My Finest Work Yet) and Calexico & Iron and Wine (who dropped their second collaboration Years to Burn), and in 2020 they’ll be touring together as part of “The Great Summer Stroll” tour.
THE DECEMBERISTS / FRUIT BATS
The Decemberists are celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band with a summer tour, with Fruit Bats as support. They're promising to play “songs from every corner of the discography."
Laura Marling has announced a spring US tour, including two NYC shows, and other stops in Atlanta, DC, Philly, Toronto, and more.
Nicole Atkins is releasing a new album, Italian Ice, due out April 17 via Single Lock Records. She recorded it at Alabama’s Muscle Shoals Sound Studio with a band made up of members of the Bad Seeds, Dap-Kings, Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section and more. She's shared a video for it's first single featuring Spoon's Britt Daniel and she's also announced a summer tour, including dates in Dallas, Memphis, Scranton, Cambridge, NYC (Bowery Ballroom on 7/9), DC and more. She's also got April dates on the West Coast and Southwest. All dates are here.
Nordic folk band Wardruna are going on tour behind their just-announced new LP Kvitravn, out in June.
CRUEL WORLD FESTIVAL
Do you like classic new wave, '80s alt and goth? L.A.'s one-day Cruel World festival has put together a bitchin' lineup including Bauhaus, Blondie, Devo, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Psychedelic Furs, Violent Femmes, The Church, The English Beat, Public Image Ltd, Gary Numan, Marc Almond, and more. Morrissey headlines.
ZIGGY AND STEPHEN MARLEY
Ziggy Marley and Stephen Marley will be playing Bob Marley Celebration shows around the country this year, including a BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! show in August.
Hot Snakes are playing the 2020 edition of Chicago venue Empty Bottle’s annual winter outdoor charity concert Music Frozen Dancing on February 22 (as well as the afterparty), which kicks off a short tour that hits Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Oakland, Seattle, Portland and more.
DEFTONES / GOJIRA / POPPY
Deftones have announced an extensive summer tour, with exciting support from French metal vets Gojira and bubblegum pop/metal blender Poppy.
Jens Lekman has announced a spring North American tour that will have him performing with local youth orchestras in many cities.
