tours announced: Marky Ramone, Mates of State, Sasha & Digweed, Erin Jane Laroue, more

The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

MARKY RAMONE’S BLITZKRIEG

Marky Ramone’s Blitzkrieg, the band featuring former Ramones drummer Marky Ramone along with Greg Hetson (Bad Religion/Circle Jerks/Redd Kross) and more doing Ramones classics, have a few shows coming up including the annual NYC “Holiday Blitzkrieg” concert which happens at Gramercy Theatre on 12/20. Right before that, Marky also has a stop at PA’s Ardmore Music Hall on 12/19, in addition to several European dates lined up this year. You can check here for all those dates.

ERIN JANE LAROUE

Metal scene approved gothic-folk-meets-modern-classical singer-songwriter Erin Jane Laroue has been writing songs privately since the ’90s, but just released and started performing them for the first time. She discusses her debut album CHALANT (released on 7/17) — on which she sings and plays pianos and all the instruments — in detail over at Invisible Oranges. We’re not sure she’s played outside of Portland, Oregon yet, but if you’re in the area, her album release show takes place there at the appropriately titled Lovecraft Bar on 7/27 with Kertoa Kalevala. No other shows as of this moment.

MATES OF STATE

It’s been eight years since indie pop vets Mates of State released a full-length album, but they’ve since kept busy by playing one-off dates, releasing a best-of compilation, Greats, and even becoming new parents. Now, Kori Gardner and Jason Hammel have announced a special one-off date at NYC’s Mercury Lounge on 9/28 which is part of the venue’s 25th Anniversary. Tickets are on sale now, and this is the duo’s only upcoming tour date at the moment.

TAYLOR MCFERRIN (ADDED TO KAMASI WASHINGTON

Kamasi Washington’s summer tour hits Jersey City’s White Eagle Hall on August 1 for a BrooklynVegan-presented show. It’s just gotten better as Taylor McFerrin has been added to the bill. Tickets are still available. You can also catch Taylor McFerrin on tour and he has his own NYC show in September.

SASHA & JOHN DIGWEED

UK house DJ veterans Sasha and John Digweed released many pivotal compilations and remixes during the late ’90s scene before embarking on solo ventures throughout the 2000s. The duo have played shows together since then, too, and they’ll be on the decks at NYC’s Brooklyn Mirage on 7/26, which should be an appropriate venue for their spacious rhythms. Afterwards, they’ll stop at Washington DC’s Echostage on 7/27, before John Digweed plays a solo DJ set at San Francisco’s The Great Northern on 10/4. All dates can be found here.

KACEY MUSGRAVES

Kacey Musgraves continues to expand her tour behind last year’s great Golden Hour, including two dates at Radio City Music Hall with openers Lucius, and a Nashville show with Maggie Rogers.

PERFUME GENIUS & KATE WALLICH: “THE SUN STILL BURNS HERE”

Mike Hadreas of Perfume Genius is collaborating with choreographer Kate Wallich and her company The YC for The Sun Still Burns Here, a touring dance and live music piece. It has its world premiere in Seattle in October, and also plays NYC, Minneapolis and Boston.

KING PRINCESS

Pop singer King Princess announced a US tour behind her forthcoming debut LP, out this fall.

CONSTANT ELEVATION

The Movielife/I Am The Avalanche frontman Vinnie Caruana and the prolific drummer Sammy Siegler (of Youth of Today, Judge, CIV, Rival Schools, Glassjaw, and more) announced an NYC record release show under their new duo name, Constant Elevation.

REGIONAL JUSTICE CENTER / SPINE / DEVIL’S DEN

Regional Justice Center, the powerviolence project of Ian Shelton (of Seattle’s New Gods and Drug Culture), will release the Institution EP on August 16, and will tour with Spine (ex-Weekend Nachos) and Devil’s Den immediately after.
