MORRISSEY

Morrissey has announced two new shows in California surrounding his previously-announced appearance at Long Beach’s Tropicalia Festival this November, including a Halloween show at Ventura’s Majestic Ventura Theatre on 10/31, and a show at San Diego’s Copley Symphony Hall on 11/10. MAZZY STAR

Mazzy Star have added a show at Ventura, CA’s Majestic Ventura Theater on 11/1, two days before their appearance at Tropicalia. These are the band’s only upcoming dates at the moment, and you can find those here. The band released their EP Still back in June, their first new music in five years.

KIMBRA / DAWN

Australian singer Kimbra released Primal Heart earlier this year, and she just announced a small US tour which entails more intimate, stripped-down arrangements of her songs than usual. The tour notably features support from DAWN (who recently put out two new singles), and hits Brooklyn’s Murmrr Theatre on 12/8, in addition to further shows in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Francisco, and Boston. YOWLER

Yowler (the solo project of All Dogs singer Maryn Jones) will be playing a few shows this fall surrounding the release of her upcoming LP Black Dog In My Path, with shows in Philly, NYC (Park Church Co-op on 11/13), Chicago, Bloomington, and more. Find all dates here.

JIM JAMES

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James announced a fall tour with Hurray For The Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra a few months back, which includes two NYC-area shows: first at Town Hall on 11/13, then at Port Chester, NY’s Capitol Theatre on 11/14. He recently added a few October US shows supporting HeadCount’s “The Future Is Voting” campaign, which aims to increase young voter turnout for the upcoming US midterm elections. This includes solo shows at college campuses in Austin, Milwaukee, Urbana, San Marcos, and others, with admission mostly free for college students. Head here for all dates and further information.

GONG GONG GONG (TOURING WITH PARQUET COURTS, FLASHER, PUBLIC PRACTICE)

Beijing duo Gong Gong Gong make stripped down dirty blues rock, whose mantra is “Phantom Rhythm.” They’ve signed to Wharf Cat who will release a new 7″ with “Siren 追逐劇” b/w ” Something’s Happening 突發” on November 9. The band will be on tour in North America, starting with West Coast dates opening for Parquet Courts, before hooking up with Flasher and and Public Practice for dates in December. They’ll also tour the UK with Bodega in the new year. All dates are listed here.

MADBALL (with CYPRESS HILL, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, more)

NY hardcore veterans Madball have a few shows coming up, including an opening slot on Cypress Hill’s Haunted Hill show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on 11/2, and further dates supporting Suicidal Tendencies. The band is also going on a headlining tour of their own, stopping in San Antonio, Chicago, Orlando, Miami, and more. HOLLY MIRANDA
