The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

TORRES

Being dropped by her label hasn’t stopped Torres from keeping busy, and she’s got a few upcoming tour dates on her schedule. Aside from a previously-announced NYC date at Le Poisson Rouge on 3/23, she’ll be playing Calgary, AB’s Sled Island fest in June (she was hand-picked by Julien Baker), and Otis, MA’s multi-day Welcome Campers fest in May. In related news, her self-titled debut LP is being reissued on vinyl, with various personalized autograph options. Check here for all dates.

MIKE BIRBIGLIA (LOS ANGELES RUN)

Comedian Mike Birbiglia wrapped up the Broadway run of his current show The New One back in January, and he’s just announced that he’ll be bringing the show to Los Angeles for five weeks later this fall. The run is at LA’s Ahmanson Theatre from 10/23 to 11/24. Tickets will go on sale sometime this summer, but you can now subscribe to the Ahmanson’s full 2019-2020 season (which includes The New One) here. You can also watch Mike’s video announcement of the LA run below.

TRUE WIDOW

Doom metal/shoegaze fusion band True Widow’s last album was 2016’s Avvolgere, but they’ve recently added some new headlining East Coast shows for 2019, so maybe new material is on the way. The band will first stop at Philly’s Underground Arts on 4/17, before appearing at NYC’s Brooklyn Bazaar on 4/18 (with support from The Men and Blush). These are their only upcoming dates at the moment.

SEBADOH

Veteran indie rock trio Sebadoh will release their first album in six years this spring and will tour for it as well, including East Coast dates with Eleanor Friedberger.

THE GROWLERS

California-based The Growlers are adding more dates behind last year’s surprise-released Casual Acquaintances, and they’ve just announced a run of US dates happening in July and August. The tour kicks off in Phoenix, before hitting many other cities including Asbury Park (The Stone Pony on 7/31), Albany, Toronto, Phoenix, Montreal, Buffalo, Cleveland, San Antonio, and many others, before a final stop at the UK’s Green Man Festival on 8/18. (No word on the 2019 edition of their Beach Goth festival just yet.)  Head here for tickets to all upcoming dates.

BILAL

Prolific R&B soul artist Bilal, known for his several solo albums, and collaborations with tons of notable artists including Kendrick Lamar, Beyonce, J Dilla and others, will be playing a special one-off date with his live band at Brooklyn’s National Sawdust on 3/29. This is his only upcoming date at the moment.

PARQUET COURTS

Parquet Courts have a few select dates this spring and summer, including a Woodstock, NY show at Levon Helm Studios on June 7, an appearance at Bonnaroo and a Minneapolis show at First Ave on July 18 with Cate Le Bon. You can also catch frontman A. Savage at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on March 7 with Ryley Walker.

LATE BLOOMER / ALRIGHT

Emo/indie trio Late Bloomer released the very solid Waiting last year, and they’ve just announced a run of spring tour dates this April, alongside Charlotte-based band Alright. The tour includes two NYC-area stops: first at Long Island’s Mr. Beery’s on 4/4 (with Pushing Sides and Broken Bicycle Carpool Club), and then at Brooklyn’s Bushwick Public House on 4/5 (with Nadir and Hard Pass). Other cities include Long Branch, Philly, Boston, Arlington, Raleigh, and Roanoke. You can find the full list of dates here.

LISSIE

Singer-songwriter Lissie is preparing to release When I’m Alone: The Piano Retrospective, a new record containing stripped down reinterpretations of many of her past songs, and covers of songs by Fleetwood Mac, Dixie Chicks, and more. In celebration of the album’s release, she’ll be playing a few East Coast shows this May, with a portion of proceeds going towards the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), which leads many environmental conservation efforts. The tour includes a stop at City Winery on 5/9, and other shows in Los Angeles, Berkeley, Washington D.C., Evanston, and Ardmore. Lissie will also soon be wrapping up a tour opening for Joshua Radin, with shows in Seattle and Portland this weekend. You can check here for all upcoming dates, and stream the piano version of “When I’m Alone” off the upcoming record below.

BURNA BOY

Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Burna Boy landed a spot at Coachella in April, and he’s got a few more upcoming US dates surrounding his appearance at the festival. He’ll be playing NYC’s legendary Apollo Theater on 4/5, and several other shows in Boston, Silver Springs, Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco. Find all dates listed here.
