The following new tours were announced. Check the Tour Dates category every day for more.

THE THE

Matt Johnson will be embarking on his first The The tour of North America in 18 years in September and the lineup of the band has just been announced. Johnny Marr is sadly not a part of The The this time out, but the group features Mind Bomb/Dusk era bassist James Eller, plus DC Collard on keyboards (who was on the 'Lonely Planet' tour), Earl Harvin on drums (representing the 'Naked' tour), and new member Barrie Cadogan of Little Barrie (and Edwyn Collins' band) on guitar. Johnson says, "For this tour I wanted to strip down many of the songs and actually reduce the sonic palette. We won't be using any samplers, click-tracks, sequencers or synthesizers. It's just five musicians performing reinterpretations of my catalogue. The songs are not supposed to be reproductions of the album versions and many of them don't sound like they do on the old recordings." The tour includes two NYC shows.

JON HOPKINS

Currently in NYC having played Festival of Disruption over the weekend with another NYC show tomorrow, Jon Hopkins will return for a proper North American tour in September which will be opened by Daniel Avery and Leon Vynehall.

GRIZZLY BEAR

Grizzly Bear have once again expanded their 2018 tour in continued support of last year's great Painted Ruins, which was their first album in five years. Newly-added dates include shows in Tennessee, Texas, North Carolina, and Alabama, and that's in addition to the FOUR NYC-area shows they're playing in June (two of which are co-headlining with Spoon). All dates and tickets HERE.
