WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY

The prolific World/Inferno Friendship Society, who have blended punk, klezmer, jazz, and more for many years, have announced the 2018 edition of their annual, very elaborate “Hallowmas” show at Brooklyn’s Warsaw on Halloween night. This is the band’s only date at the moment.

SUFFOCATION / CATTLE DECAPITATION / KRISIUN / SOREPTION

Death metal vets Suffocation have announced their final tour with original vocalist Frank Mullen, and it includes many stops across North America, including a show at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on 11/16, as well as stops in Montreal, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Detroit, and many more cities. On tour, the band will have some killer support from fellow long-running metal acts Cattle Decapitation and Krisiun, and Swedish tech-death outfit Soreption. All dates can be found here.

THE ZOMBIES

Still featuring main members Colin Blunstone and Rod Argent, The Zombies continue to tour and sound great, and they’ve just announced West Coast dates for September, including shows in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, and more. They’ll also open for Arcade Fire at LA’s The Greek Theatre. They’ve got a European tour after that and all dates are here.

ANNA VON HAUSSWOLFF

Earlier this year, Swedish singer, songwriter, and organist Anna Von Hausswolff released the very good Dead Magic, which has an expansive style that floats between folk, doom, and more. She recently announced a few North American dates in October, and while there’s no NYC dates on the cards currently, she’ll be playing shows in San Francisco, Portland, Denver, and Chicago, among others. View all upcoming dates here.

FRED THOMAS / ANNA BURCH / COMMON HOLLY

Polyvinyl labelmates Fred Thomas and Anna Burch are hitting the road with Common Holly (members of whom play on Fred’s new album).

TERROR / HARMS WAY / BACKTRACK / YEAR OF THE KNIFE / CANDY

Hardcore punks Terror will be releasing their newest record Total Retaliation on September 28, and they’ve just announced a North American tour with a solid group of support: Harms Way (who also put out a new album this year), Backtrack, Year of the Knife, and Candy.
