Trap Them / Coliseum @ BK Bazaar - 7/19/14
Before heading off to Deathwish Fest, Trap Them and Coliseum dropped into Brooklyn Night Bazaar on July 19 for a free show that also featured White Widows Pact and Incendiary. Trap Them are gigging around in support of Blissfucker, their new album out on Prosthetic Records. In his Invisible Oranges review, Rhys Williams said of the album:
Blissfucker, however, is now eternal, a testament to a singular moment of discord and loathing writ large for hardcore kids to play while punching holes through their bedroom walls for years to come. That moment, that time, there was nothing but rage. Rage and the familiar sound of that buzzsaw guitar, dragging discordant riffs across your veins.
And while punched-holes in the pics below are conspicuously absent, there's no doubt Brooklyn Night Bazaar patrons were hit with big buzzes of HM-2 rage.
Brooklyn's White Widows Pact opened the night with a blast of '90s-styled metalcore. They cut a self-titled EP in 2013, which they followed this year with a cover of "Negative Creep" that honored "...Nirvana's induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, their huge influence on our music, and our contemporaries." You can check that one out below. They were followed by Incendiary, whose style skews more towards tough guy hardcore. They're set to hit This Is Hardcore this weekend (7/27) and the Mongoloids' final show at Back to School Jam 2014 held at GameChanger World in Howell, New Jersey on August 23. Lastly, before Trap Them hit the stage, there was Coliseum. The Kentucky punks just put out a deluxe set of remasters that freshens up their self-titled debut full-length and eight bonus tracks culled from their many splits and singles. You can also check out the new-sounding "No Salvation" below.
The whole BK Bazaar show is available to be streamed. More pictures, with those streams we mentioned, below...
