Tree released an EP, playing NYC w/ Bodega Bamz tonight

Chicago rapper Tree recently put out The @MCTreeG EP. In addition to answering the question “wait, but what’s his Twitter handle?” we said the EP “opens with Tree’s raspy voice over the seemingly slow-moving ‘Probably Nu It,’ which gets to grooving as the hi-hats slide in. That track precedes the booming ‘Like Whoa,’ soul-sampling ‘Soultrappin / I Believe,’ and the somber ‘Stay Away.'” If you haven’t heard it yet, you can stream The @MCTreeG EP below.

Tree will be returning to NYC for what appears to be a one-off happening TONIGHT (2/12) at Knitting Factory with excellent local rapper Bodega Bamz. That show is presented by Scion and it’s FREE but you do have to enter Scion’s contest for a chance to gain entry. The contest is open until 8 PM tonight.
