Tropical Fuck Storm (ex-The Drones) touring w/ Modest Mouse + other dates
Australia's Tropical Fuck Storm, the new band from Gareth Liddiard and Fiona Kitschin of The Drones, will see the U.S. release of their terrific, impossible-to-categorize debut album, A Laughing Death in Meatspace, on October 26 via Joyful Noise. As I wrote in Indie Basement:
Laughing Death in Meatspace is big, bold and brash, with drums that sound like shipping containers and electronics shouldering up against the guitars (which here are more for atmospherics than riffs). Fiona, Lauren and Erica all sing, and their combined voices is what really give TFS its own energy, making songs poppier than The Drones while remaining totally bizarre.

The band, who toured with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard just weeks after forming, will be back in North Americato open on Modest Mouse's upcoming fall tour, including their Brooklyn show at Kings Theatre on October 9. Tickets are still available, and we're also giving away a pair.
While in town for King Theatre, TFS will play a headlining show at Brooklyn's Elsewhere Zone One on October 8 with Gnarcissists. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, September 7 at 10 AM. Tropical Fuck Storm will also play an L.A. show with fellow Aussies Amyl & The Sniffers at The Echo on October 15 (tickets). All tour dates are listed below.
