TV Girl reissuing debut LP 'French Exit' on vinyl, playing it in full on tour

Sample-forward pop group TV Girl are reissuing their terrific 2014 debut album French Exit on vinyl and that will be out in time for its “6 1/2 year anniversary” tour which they’ve announced in typically sardonic, self-effacing fashion:

TV Girl released “French Exit” in 2014 to shrugs. It would take exactly 6 and half years for their storied debut album to be re-evaluated as the singular slice of sickly-sweet-downer-pop that we all know and love today. To capitalize on this fortuitous twist of fate, the “TV Girl traveling All-Star Band” will be performing their iconic album in its entirety, giving the album the triumphant national tour it always deserved. Don’t look at it as a cynical cash grab. See it for what it really is, the cathartic revenge of the underdog, courtesy of TV Girl, “The Last Great American Indie Band.”

The tour, which has their friend Jordana opening all shows, is in two legs: A West Coast trek kicks off April 23 in Santa Ana, CA and wraps up May 15 in L.A., then they’ll hit the rest of the US starting June 17 in Tampa, FL and finishing up July 25 in New Orleans. They’ll play Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg on July 1 and tickets are on sale now.
