Twin Peaks soundtrack getting vinyl reissue w/ presale parties around the country

We’re finally getting a vinyl reissue of the gorgeous, tragic score of the death of the gorgeous, tragic Laura Palmer. Composer Angelo Badalamenti’s soundtrack for Twin Peaks has been out of print for almost as long as the has been off the air but is coming back, much like that gum you like, via Death Waltz Recording Company on September 9 — just in time for the Showtime re-vamp due next year.

Welcome to Twin Peaks reports that the record will be pressed on “Damn Fine Coffee” colored brown 180g vinyl, with a David Lynch-approved cover image of the classic Twin Peaks zig-zag design and blue pine trees designed by Sam Smith.

Lyrics and liner notes from Badalamenti will be included, and the composer says “I’m glad that after 25 years, Death Waltz Recording Company has re-released the original soundtrack for Twin Peaks for a new audience to enjoy. This is my defining work as a composer and I’m happy it will get a fresh listen.” Preorders are available now and the track list is below.

There will also be a few special “coffee and cherry pie” pre-sale events happening across the country on September 6, including one at Rough Trade in Brooklyn. All locations are listed below.

Likewise, the soundtrack for feature film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me is expected to receive a vinyl release sometime this December.

In other Twin Peaks related news, David Lynch is curating the new Festival of Disruption, which will feature performances from Robert Plant & the Sensational Space Shifters, St. Vincent, Rhye, Jon Hopkins, Kaitlyn Eurelia Smith and Sky Ferreira (who will be in the new show). Xiu Xiu, who has done a lot of work with the music from Twin Peaks, including a reinterpretation of the soundtrack, will be performing, as will Badalamenti. That festival will happen in downtown LA on October 8 & 9. Tickets are on sale.
