Tycho surprised released new LP 'Epoch' (listen)
Electronic act Tycho surprised released a new album today, Epoch, which is the final in a trilogy started with 2011’s Dive, then 2014’s Awake. It’s definitely in keeping with the warm, post-Boards of Canada dreampop sound of those two previous LPs. Main man Scott Hansen made the record in his Berkeley, CA home studio, and says of the surprise nature of Epoch, “I’ve never been fond of handing in an album then waiting four months for it to be released. I wanted to be more connected to the people consuming the music. There is a kind of visceral fulfillment you get from sharing something that you’ve just created with other people. That’s a very satisfying feeling as an artist.”
The vinyl and CD version of Epoch will be out in January via Ghostly. You can stream Epoch right now, below.
