U2 at Madison Square Garden

U2 began their Madison Square Garden run (night 1 pics, setlist)

U2 played their first of three nights at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Monday night (6/25). The Experience + Innocence tour is, like the album it’s supporting, a continuation of their 2015 Innocence + Experience tour, with a similar, spectacular two-stage, two-set structure. Also having toured The Joshua Tree last year, U2 are eschewing that record’s many, many hits, instead leaning more on ’90s and ’00s albums. “Acrobat,” from Atchung Baby, made its live debut on this tour, and Pop‘s “Staring at the Sun” has been a regular on the setlist too.

You can check out their Madison Square Garden Night 1 setlist and a few videos below, and pictures are in the gallery above. U2 play MSG again tonight (6/26), then move to Newark’s Prudential Center on Friday (6/29) before returning to MSG on Sunday (7/1). Tickets are on sale.
