UK band Telegram released debut album (stream it), now playing four NYC shows this week (1 is free)
UK band Telegram released their debut album, Operator, last week and, as I described it before, it’s a bit like if The Undertones came out of Wales instead of Ireland and were produced by Brian Eno. (Which also makes it a bit like the first Super Furry Animals album.) You can stream the whole thing below.
Following a week of shows at SXSW, UK band Telegram are in NYC this week and have added a couple more shows since our last post, for a total of four chances to see them: They play first on a late show tonight (3/21) at Mercury Lounge with Oh, Oh Ecstasy and Del Caesar ($10 at the door); then a free late show at Baby’s All Right on Wednesday (3/23, doors at midnight); then Pianos on Thursday (3/24) with Brad Goodall, Stephen Babcock, Luca Di Fabio, and MTT. (tickets); and finally Friday (3/25) at Shea Stadium with Denmark’s Yung, B Boys and The Yin Yangs (tickets).
