UK duo Her's touring around SXSW, burgle houses in new "Harvey" video
UK duo Her’s hail from Liverpool and are not to be confused with H.E.R. or I’m With Her, though you probably will. The band cite David Lynch’s Twin Peaks as a prime influence — their 2018 debut An Invitation to Her’s references the soap opera within the series’ first season — but you don’t really hear it musically. They sound more like The Strokes if they listened to jazzy, jangly ’80s alt rock and pop and not Television and Tom Petty. You can listen to the whole thing below.
We’ve got the premiere of the video for “Harvey” which has the band, in their off-hours, making ends meet via burglary. “Bolt down your valuables, hide away your silverware and stash your adult contemporary music collection somewhere safe,” warn the band. “Two seedy types have been spotted in your neighborhood and they be stealing everything out here. This is a PSA from Her’s warning you of these treacherous thieves, known as ‘Skinner n Butch’.” When the house they break into turns out to be haunted, thrills and hilarity ensue. Watch that below.
Her’s will be visiting the U.S. in March, touring around their appearance at SXSW hitting the East Coast before Austin and heading west after. They’ll stop in Brooklyn on March 9 at Music Hall of Williamsburg with Spencer opening (tickets). All dates, including their SXSW schedule, are listed below.
