Ultimate Painting announce third LP 'Dusk' (listen to "Bills"), touring

Ultimate Painting will return with their third album, Dusk, on September 30 via Trouble in Mind. Where the band’s excellent first two albums saw Jack Cooper and James Haore working in distinct but complimentary songwriting styles, there’s a lot more symbiosis on Dusk. (Like dusk, as the daylight fades, silhouettes looks similar.) There are less overt nods to the Velvet Underground and Grateful Dead, and a little more drone and a different rhythmic feel, partially due to new drummer Melissa Rigby. Those vibes are evident on the album’s pretty, grooving opening cut “Bills,” which you can listen to below.

Having recently toured with Woods, Ultimate Painting will be back in the U.S. for West Coast dates including the Woodsist Festival in Big Sur. No East Coast dates for now, but all dates are listed below.
