Un Coltsblood

Un share 20+ minute song ft. Windhand member, touring with CHRCH, Body Void

Seattle funeral/death doomers Un‘s sophomore album Sentiment (Translation Loss) was one of 2018’s most-loved metal albums (it landed on year-end lists from members of Thou, Khemmis, and CHRCH). Un are also set to tour with CHRCH on the West Coast in February, followed by dates with Body Void, and they’ll have a new release out right before those shows, a split with UK doomers Coltsblood. It drops February 15 as a self-release (pre-order), and Un’s 21-and-a-half-minute contribution “Every Fear Illuminated” is streaming now.

Un are no strangers to exciting guest appearances (Kelly Schilling of Dreadnought provides clean guest vocals on “Pools of Reflection” on Sentiment), and this epic new song is no different. Parker Chandler of Windhand and Cough provides guest vocals on the song, which treks through a variety of haunting sounds over the course of its lengthy running time. “‘Every Fear Illuminated’ was written and recorded in the spring of 2017 as a direct response to the loss of so many friends here in the Pacific Northwest,” Un guitarist/vocalist (and Samothrace bassist) Monte Mccleery told Decibel. “Now, finally to be released nearly two years later, this song weighs even heavier in our hearts. We are proud to have our friend Parker Chandler contribute vocals to this very personal song, as well as share the release with UK Doom titans Coltsblood, who both undoubtedly relate to this experience of intense grief and remorse.” Listen below, alongside the list of tour dates.
