Vampire Weekend livestreaming MSG show, covered Springsteen (watch)

Vampire Weekend have been on tour supporting their great comeback album Father of the Bride, and on Friday (9/6) they’ll return to NYC for a big show at Madison Square Garden with Angelique Kidjo and Despot. There are still a few tickets on sale, and if you can’t make it to the show in person, Live Nation will be live streaming it from their Twitter, too. The stream starts at 8:30 PM on September 6, and they’re teasing a “big announcement” to look out for.

On Saturday (9/7), frontman Ezra Koenig will appear on Chris Thile’s live radio variety show, Live from Here with Chris Thile, at NYC’s Town Hall, and tickets are still available.

Meanwhile, Vampire Weekend have been doing some location-specific covers on this tour, and as JamBase points out, they did Bruce Springsteen’s “Streets of Philadelphia” when they played Philadelphia’s Mann Center for the Performing Arts on Wednesday (9/4) night. Watch that happen below. What will they cover in NYC?
