Vampire Weekend rumored to release fourth album on Columbia in 2017

Vampire-Weekend-5

Vampire Weekend members Chris Baio and Chris Tomson have both been working on solo projects, and Rostam has been up to a lot since leaving the band. That all may seem like bad news for Vampire Weekend on paper, but you may remember that when Rostam announced his departure he also mentioned he’d still be working with Vampire Weekend on new music.

Now it feels a little closer to VW album #4, as it’s been rumored on Hits Daily Double that Vampire Weekend signed to Columbia for their next LP. The post says that the deal “reportedly came after leader Ezra Koenig hit it off with Columbia chief Rob Stringer,” and that we should “look for a new album sometime around Q2 or Q3 of 2017 and a tour later in the year.” Their first three albums came out on XL.
