Velvet Negroni shares "Kurt Kobain" from new LP, touring w/ Tame Impala & more

Velvet Negroni, the alter-ego of Minneapolis-born singer, songwriter, producer and Bon Iver collaborator Jeremy Nutzman, will release his debut album, Neon Brown, on August 30 via 4AD. He’s just shared a new single and video, “Kurt Kobain” and while it doesn’t sound like Nirvana, it does take a little from The Police’s “Don’t Stand So Close to Me.” You can watch the video for that below.

Velvet Negroni has been opening for Tame Impala and does so again, starting with their two Madison Square Garden shows on August 21 & 22 (tickets), as well as DC, Philly and Minneapolis. Before that, he’ll be appearing in NYC at SONOS Store on August 19 for a listening event and Q&A, and The Ace Hotel on August 20 for a DJ set. Right after the second MSG show, he’ll head that same night to Top of The Standard (8/22), to play a show as part of the Standard Sounds Presents series (details TBA).

After that he heads to Europe. All dates are listed below.
