Verboten currently shut down by the state due to "nonpayment of taxes"

Things have not been going well for Williamsburg dance club Verboten. FIrst the owners were accused of mismanagement and fraud and then they were sued for sexual harassment, and now the venue is currently shut down and locked up due to “nonpayment of taxes.”

There’s a notice posted on the venue (pictured above), which reads, ““This property has been seized for nonpayment of taxes, and is now in the possession of the state of New York. Any person who attempts to tamper or interfere with this property will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

The venue’s calendar still lists upcoming shows, which will likely be moved if not cancelled. Super Flu is billed for tonight (3/31). Stay tuned for more details.
