Versus headlining Philippines benefit at Shea Stadium

The Philippines are still recovering from devastating Typhoon Haiyan (aka Yolanda) which hit the country back in November. There have been a few benefits here in NYC — most notably David Byrne’s staging of Here Lies Love at Terminal 5 — but this Saturday (1/11) there’s one at Shea Stadium featuring bands with ties to the Philippines. Headliners are indie rock vets Versus (who haven’t had a NYC show in a good while), and also features pow wow!, Crazy Pills, Quiet Loudly, The Planes, and Let’s Be Loveless. Tickets are $10 at the door and all proceeds will go to the American Red Cross Typhoon Relief Effort.
