Viagra Boys touring around SXSW, playing NYC & LA
Swedish band Viagra Boys released new album Street Worms earlier this year, a terrific record full of dystopian post-punk that doesn’t take itself too seriously (but neither is it a joke). A bit from my Indie Basement review:
Viagra Boys’ debut album revels in its tales of unbridled, sleazeball, don’t-give-a-fuck machismo. There are: repressed family men with BDSM inclinations, plus huffers, all manner of other idiots, as well as frogs, worms, and lots of dogs… The band are also more than up to snuff, making no-nonsense danceable punk/postpunk, with a little X-Ray Spex style sax and excellent, vibrant and energetic production.

The band will be heading to the U.S. in March for SXSW and will also play shows a few shows outside of Austin as well, so far announcing NYC (Elsewhere Zone One on March 12) and Los Angeles (The Echo on March 20). Tickets for both those shows are on sale now.
