Vic Mensa blasts Lil Wayne over Black Lives Matter comments; Kanye and Kim invited Alton Sterling's son backstage
Last night, Lil Wayne appeared on ABC’s Nightline to do an interview. When asked about Black Lives Matter during the segment, Wayne proceeded to call it “dumb-ass shit,” said “my life matter” and “If it ain’t got nothin’ to do with me, I ain’t connected to it.”

After the segment aired, Chicago rapper Vic Mensa blasted Lil Wayne for those comments in a Reddit AMA promoting the release of his new video.
i think it’s a very ignorant, selfish & isolated position to take. because even someone as big as wayne is just a black man minus all of his ice and fame, and can be treated the same way.
Wayne has since apologized for his comments. Meanwhile, you can check out Vic’s new video for “16 Shots” here:
In other Black Lives Matter related news, it came out today that Kanye West and Kim Kardashian did a great thing for teenager Cameron Sterling. Cameron is the son of Alton Sterling, the black man who was tragically killed by Baton Rouge police officers earlier this year. For his 16th birthday he was invited backstage at Kanye’s Saint Pablo show in LA this past Tuesday. A very nice gesture from Kim and Kanye, who were pictured in a tweet sent out by Cameron’s attorney:
