Vic Mensa played House of Vans Chicago with The Pack (Lil B included) -- pics

Chicago rapper Vic Mensa played his hometown last night (5/31) for the opening night of House of Vans Chicago. The premise for the current House of Vans season is that the headliners handpick the openers, and he picked direct support from The Pack (who are a good fit on a House of Vans show), who got back together and released the comeback single “Why U Wanna Do That” earlier this year. That song didn’t feature original member Lil B, but Young L told The FADER that Lil B is expected on the next record, and he was there at the Chicago show (and Lil B called it a “Lil B extremely rare live show 2018”). Pictures are in the gallery above.

Vic is now headed for NYC, where he’ll play Governors Ball (he’s one of the 12 acts we’re excited to see) on Sunday (6/3) and a GovBall After Dark show on Saturday (6/2) night at Bowery Ballroom. You can win tickets to the late-night show.

Last year, Vic released his great debut album The Autobiography and supported it with an opening slot on Jay-Z’s 4:44 tour.
